This weeks choice is by Mr french bread and is the classic Musha on the Mega drive/ Genesis. Here's a bit of info on it.

M.U.S.H.A., known in Japan as Musha Aleste: Full Metal Fighter Ellinor is a 1990 vertically scrolling shooter developed by compile and released by Toaplan in Japan and Seismic in the United States. It is part of the aleste series. The game instantly became popular among scrolling shooter fans. M.U.S.H.A. remains popular among Genesis collectors today, and is one of the most expensive games for the system -- it has been known to reach high prices on eBay.
In the US version, M.U.S.H.A. is an acronym for "Metallic Uniframe Super Hybrid Armor".

The gameplay involves obtaining power-ups, called P-chips. The power-ups cause the main mecha to change color and grant sub-weapons. The sub-weapon also acts as a shield; if the mecha has a sub-weapon and is hit by an enemy attack, the sub weapon is destroyed in place of the mecha. The sub-weapons can be upgraded up to four times if the player obtains the same powerup more than once. The sub-weapons include an energy shield, a beam cannon, and missiles. The player can also obtain and stockpile helper drones, which have customisable attack modes. Up to two drones can assist the player in combat; when one is destroyed, a new one appears if the player has any in reserve.

Oh yes! No doubt a 5! I think this is easily the best shmup on the MD. Cool, fast-paced, lag-free graphics with alot of impressive layer scrolling on some levels. Kickass music, and a fairly simple , but extremely well-made weapon system.

The story seems faily nice too, for a shmup. I like it when the pilot has some kind of personality (although only seen in the intro :P)

I'll give it a 4. Awesome game, a good swarm of power-ups and lots of fun.

Yeah I gave it a quick go over the weekend. Only got to level 3 but i've played it before and it's as enjoyable as I remember it. Give it a 4.
