I did a search for this and couldn't find it. Seems like quite an obvious one too. I want too know what your favourite game is. What's the game that you're most sentimental about? Which one means most to you?

Im tempted to say FF7 in terms of pure sentimentality as I have a lot of goods memories as a kid playing it but I've probably had more fun playing games since. My all time fave is probably Snatcher on the Mega CD. Just everything about it kicks arse. No wait maybe Suikoden on the PlayStation 1, or FF8 or ARGGGHHH I can't even answer my own question.

Lol :P

I'll never really know my own fave game....it could be critical hits and highly regarded games like Zelda Ocarina of time

...or it could be trashy games like Jugge Dredd & Star Wars Jedi Academy (I think was the name) that I played multi-player on with friends for months :) back then we would make up our own rules and game modes, it was great fun

..Halo of course...

But then there's some amazing RPG's like Grandia....and Pokemon....and then there's Guitar Hero....

I'll never be able to choose

Bloody tough question eh? Don't think I could ever answer this. I have a select few I could say I love and would never stop playing but I could never choose an all time favourite. If I did it would be something along the lines of Puyo Puyo 15th Anniversary, Futari Wa Pretty Cure Max Heart, Spyro The Dragon... basically games other people think are grade A crap but me.

One thing no-one can argue about you at least is that you do have a......... unique sense of taste.;)

All time favourite, huh? I guess that spot goes to NiGHTS for the Saturn. The game is simply awesome and that's a game I simply cannot get enough of.

It's a really tough question. People always have those games that captivate him or her the most, but it's really hard awarding those games a proper "score", because it simply doesn't matter the actual quality of the game since the enjoyment gotten from the game far surpasses those issues.

I try to keep quiet about it.

I can answer this, for me it's no problem there's just one game that stands out for me personally. Guardian Heroes for the Saturn, hard to explain why it's better than everything else for me, The anime style, fantastic music, great characters, around 7 (or so) different endings not to mention the different paths on the way there, great 2 player co-op and fantastic 6 player battle royale.

It's still unique to this day and no-one has copied the system, not even the sequel used the same fighting systems over 3 different levels on the screen.

Magic spells, cute anime girls, swords and monsters, what the hell more could you want?

Sly 3: Band of Theives. HANDS. DOWN.

Incoming brief fanboy rave, read if you want. :P

I know the Sly Cooper trilogy has very much gone down to a cult following rather than common popularity, but I still say that those games are damn near perfect. I've been in love with the series since the first game - I've got one of the originals, too, before they changed the cover art - and it's one of the few game series that got better EACH TIME THROUGHOUT ALL THREE. The only other one I know of that improved so reliably was the original Spyro trilogy.

Right from the start, the controls were perfectly designed. Jump and hit the Circle button, boom, you're good. The game engine was rock-solid, hardly a glitch in sight. The first game of the series was a bit fiddly with the way almost EVERY ability you picked up got mapped to the Triangle button, but they fixed that quickly with Sly 2, mapping out extra moves onto three of the shoulder buttons, and even using the little-known L3 and R3 buttons to great effect.

Sly 2's multi-character concept worked wonderfully, too, with the unique abilities of Bentley & Murray. Allowing Sly to actually sneak around ALL the guards, AND pick their pockets, was also a welcome addition. So much to love.

Then finally, they wrenched out all the stops with Sly 3, packing in enough game to make the DVD-ROM explode. Every character had their own perfect personality, the abilities & challenges were fantastic & fun, and as usual the game ALWAYS stayed challenging but fair. The 3D-glasses levels were more gimmicky than impressive, but they were also undeniably fun, and an interesting "side issue."

But the that makes it for me, the thing I've ALWAYS loved, is the STORY, the CHARACTERS, the DIALOGUE. Absolutely perfect, every line quick and witty, and well-delivered. The one exception to this rule is the American woman that played Carmelita in Sly 2; I've never understood why Sucker Punch did that. Not only did I miss Carmelita's sexy Latina accent, but that woman was... Well... Pretty damn awful. In fact, Sly 2 might've been my favorite had it not been for her, and the fact that you had to restart the whole game to play a mission over again.

But oh hell... What a game. What a series. What a legendary triumph. There were rumours around for a while that SP might be making Sly 4, but I'm glad they didn't; Sly 3 was a very definite ENDING, and a fourth would've over-pushed the series & made it strained. Hats off to Sucker Punch; you guys shaped about three of my teenage years at the very least. :D

EDIT: Wow, that was so NOT a brief rave. Ah well, it had to be done. XD

^Wow, Sly 3 best game ever. That's what I like about this. Seeing peoples vastly different opinions. I've never played Sly before, I'll have to give it a try.

That is interesting, I played about 4 hours of Sly 3 and thought it was a really average 3D platformer

Hm, I'm suprised noone said any of the Phantasy Star series. After all this is a Sega forum. Might as well be that I'm to old or something=P

After that headline you all know what I'm gonna pick as my favorite game, exactly, Phantasy Star. And to be more precise Phantasy Star III.

I dont know how many countless hours I've spend in my youth running around with Rhys, Mieu, Wren, Lyle, Sean, Crys...around in towns and dungeons.
Not just is it one of the best RPG games ever made, it also has(in my oppinium) one of the best game soundtracks.
For you havn't played this game, or any of the series, I'll strongly recomend that you give it a try.

Wow... I've played 3 of the 4 PS games, and frankly... I thought PSIII was by far the WORST of the whole series. It had great potential, but totally lost it in execution.

Phantasy Star IV, however, is totally my favorite game after the Sly trilogy, AND my favorite retro game, AND the most nostalgic for me. :D

Maybe he's just such an individual like the guy of the dating website who's favourite film is Godfather 3 (even though it's not considered the best one). That post of his was probably a song.

Hehe, I've heard some ppl say that III is not as good as the other. But I cant understand why. Maybe it's just that I've been raised up with III and that it was one of my first RPG games that made me like it so much.
I also adore Phantasy Star II for being a much harder game and to the lobbysound when creating a new game:biggrin:
I dont understand why that song is not here on the Sega radio list. Or is it, just that it has different name?

Well, RadioSEGA isn't a COMPLETE archive by any means, as far as I'm aware. In fact, if it really isn't here, and you happen to find it elsewhere on the 'netz, you should send a PM or email to... Er, would that be SEGAMark or SoundReaper? Or Sherlock?

Heck, who ya gonna call?

I have ALOT of Sega tunes on my computer which isn't uploaded here and I've been speaking to SegaMark about it. He said the same as you did, that I could send em to him.
Problem is that I dont had the the time for it yet but eventually I will do that.
