By my recent research, almost NO retro game and console shops don't have the SEGA Genesis anymore!!!:(:(:( Sure, they sell SEGA Genesis games but not the actual Console!!! The shops I've been to still sell things for the Nintendo NES, but not Genesis!!! Only one shop I know sells the console, Replay. If you know where some Genesis' still exist (besides you, your friends, or your relatives house), please post here!!!!!XD

There's a local music store in my area and they had a Sega Genesis on display and for sale. Only $20 USD. Same place I got my dreamcast (also $20 USD).

I forgot to mention it was a model 1 Genesis.

Actually there's a small game store about 45 minutes from where I live that has a TON of SEGA stuff from Genesis consoles and games to Dreamcast consoles and games. It's a pretty cool place for SEGA fans.

Here in the UK you can find Sega MegaDrive consoles in most Gamestation shops. Though I've not seen too many elsewhere.

I've found some in Cash generators in the UK, and pretty much every car boot will see a few apperances.

There's a little thing called ebay...

and like french bread said, you're as sure to find a Mega Drive at a car boot sale as you are Ghost Busters VHS tapes -_-

MWAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! If the Genesis is dissapearing from all you Americans out there it is probably because of these 3 reasons:

1. You bought too many Super Nintendo consoles instead of Genesis units back in the day.
2. Bloodsucking importers with infinite cash have fed off your stashes of the console.
3. Your thirst for oil and energy have caused the prices of petrol to skyrocket, so no-one can afford going to car boot sales (without making a serious loss).

Meh, sounds like flame bait to me as there's no validity as to why you would bring this up when:
- Nobody has mentioned any particular loss of availabiliy in the states
- someone (like you) brings up smart remarks on the end of things you supply little to no proof for...

In other words, be carefull how you say things, seriously.

I'm out in Northern California, and it seems to me that just about everything has modernized. They stopped selling Gamecube games at my Gamestops (anger rising...) and the Pennsylvania Gamestops have Genesis stuff?

That's pretty sweet.

I buy Mega Drive's and the games from the internet. Nice, cheap, solved in most cases. Can't really beat it. Shops always go for newer systems. Happens. How many Ataris or speccys do you see in shops?

Hi love, there's only one local shop that really loves it's money that keeps it in the archives of abandon... the back room. They even sell 80's consoles.
If you have trouble, there will always be Ebay. x

Theres a place in my area called Replay's that is all about some retro games. They love their retro. Genesis included. They also have some cool Yobo systems, that are like having two systems in one. I saw one with both an NES slot and a Genesis slot. VERY cool. If you can't find yourself a genesis, you might want to look into a Yobo.

jjgames.com and videogamecentral.com both sell genesis games and consoles for a very cheap price. jjgames is WAY less expensive I have noticed, though.

I have seen the "genesis 3" models in supermarkets a lot, packed with sonic 2 or 3 I don't know, but I already have Mega Collection + so, didn't paid much attention to it.

The gamestation in my area doesn't stock retro stuff anymore.

Its all 360 ps3 wii and lots of rubbish merchandise that no one buys.

Bring back the old games!

In New York where I live, Sega Genesis Model 1 and 2 are so common and easy to find. If anyone wants one, come to N.Y. my friends.

In Mexico Swapmeets, you find SEGA Genesis. accesories and games as If you were on a 90's store.

I mean, I bought my Saturn for 3 dollars, I am an idiot for not buying a Dreamcast with 2 controllers, one VMU and cables for 10 dollars, and... well, you read the prices, how much do you think the SEGA Genesis is worth here? XD

If the MD/Genesis was becoming rare, Iīm sure the price of it on eBay would reflect that. Donīt worry! :)
