Hey there,

I recently got my sega mega drive II (PAL version) out from my attic. I found out a camera charger that fitted the power slot on the machine. It's a Sanyo AC Adaptor Model VAR-G8 (Input: 100-240V ~ 50/60Hz).
I'm not pretty sure it's a compatible model but I tried to turn the mega drive on and the other channels went off in quality wich means, I think, that there is some reaction. Also, the power light turns on. Another thing I don't remember is what does the screen show when it has no game inserted. I tried with 4 different games and I couldn't tune in the mega drive channel.

Any help please? :(

Are you sure that the power supply matches the Voltage and Frequency, if it doesn't it could cause problems and potentially damage if not destroy the system.

That's my doubt. I don't even know what voltage the system needs.

The MD II uses 9volts DC although to be honest it sounds like your RF modulator has bitten the dust.

My advice, get a scart lead mate. RF leads suck badly. All mine are now replaced.

Where can I get one? What do they look like?

I got a lead for my MD1 that looks like the cables they use for PC monitors. It works really well on my HDTV, and is also great on the SDTV that I aquired from a car boot sale in Norfolk...
