Hey guys

This game has been chosen by Killerfrenchbread and is Elevator action returns. Made in 94 by Taito, it is a side scrolling, platform, shooty type game. Heres some info:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elevator_Action_Returns

This game is the sequel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sequel) to the arcade classic Elevator Action (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elevator_Action) from 1983. This game featured far superior graphics, faster gameplay (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gameplay), and smoother controls. The enemies were also much tougher than they were in the original. Where the first game had a single secret agent stealing documents, this game has up to two players controlling one or two of three characters on a mission to defeat a band of terrorists armed with nuclear bombs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weapons_of_mass_destruction). This was also the first game in the series to feature a full-fledged story with in-game cut scenes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cut_scene), with voice overs.
The game features three selectable characters, six levels, more enemy variation, boss fights, an expanded arsenal of player weapons, and a greater degree of difficulty than the original. Weapons include pistol, machine gun, rocket launcher, and bombs of different type for each character.

This is availiable on mame.

It's a Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator.

It's an emulator than can play a lot of different arcade games from various arcade board types.

So all those arcade games that you see in amusement parks can be played?

Dr Shaneman

Well, most of them can. You get a few with sync problems or won't play atall but a good lot can be played.

Ooh I love mame. There are some great arcade games out there. And you can play em all on it. Well unless the don't work like Shaneman said. Alot of em that don't work you can get goin if you download extra bits and patches for em but it just goes over my head to be honest.

Metal slugs great on it. 3's my fave. Streets of rage is on mame funnily enough but it is a mega drive game though, best to play it on that.

Yea 3 is the best.

I wouldn't bother with Streets of Rage on MAME I always have trouble with those Megadrive games.

5'd it because all the characters had awesome names.

Pretty fun overall, the warning sound reminded me of Goldeneye though. =/

Exactly what I thought when I heard that sound! Must be some stock sound sample that was kicking around back then.

Look for mame32 then, it's a lot more user friendly.

Yea MAME32 is pretty much your best bet, even if it does refuse to recognise my Metal Slug games as being available.

I got it to work and it was pretty cool, not one of my faves, but certainly a good game!
