I wanted to make a thread here for finding and sharing games others may have found through the internet (generally free ones). There's all kinds of good stuff available that may go unoticed.

Has anyone played a game called Cave Story by Pixel? If you haven't, you should. It's a great platformer game with nice art and music which revolves around an interesting story. All made by one guy! You can check out Pixel's other works too.
http://www.miraigamer.net/cavestory/
It would seem it's even coming out for WiiWare.
http://www.cavestory.com/

This site has some simple, but unique-playing games. http://www.ni2.se/nifflas/
The one I played was Within a Deep Forest where you just play as a ball, but it was fascinating to play.

Everyone remember Duck Hunt? There's plenty of free versions of the nintendo classic online, but have you ever played the Doom version before?
Check it out: http://noproblo.dayjo.org/DDD/

Let me know what you think of these games and share any that you find unique and fun.

1) N is awesome! It's really hard but extremely fun! There's also an Xbox 360, PSP and DS sequel to this game called N+ (the original version is free of course)! http://www.addictinggames.com/ngame.html

2) This is a game I made so I can't say if it's any good. Please tell me if it's good. It's a platformer where you control enemies' minds by clicking on them. By controlling them you can kill them or activate mechanisms with them. But if they come in contact with you (even if you're controlling them) then you die. http://sirreal.piczo.com/?cr=7

I love Cave Story! It goes really nice on linux under the wine.
It's great Cave Story will get some graphical upgrade while porting to the wii. But I'd like to play it on my DS.

My recommendation is Dynamite Headdy! All players who not familiar with this masterpiece should try it.
This game worth a lot more than it got.

Oh, I've played that game before, it's pretty fun and addicting.

It's simple, but I like the idea. Would like to see improvement.

-I wish I had a PSP because it looks like there is a port for that unofficially. There is also a demo version for the DS too.
-I see that Dynamite Headdy is made by Treasure so it must be good. I will have to try it sometime.

Dark Orbit looks interesting to play. Not sure I want to get addicted to any online multiplayer games at the moment :P

Here's some other games I recommend:

Soldat - awesome online game. Think FSP tournament game, but put it in 2D.
http://www.soldat.pl/

Leiro X - If you like Worms, but want real time action chaos, try this game.
http://iworx5.webxtra.net/~lxallian/LXRS/

And for music game lovers:::

Stepmania - Based off of DDR where you can use a keyboard or dancepad. Download all kinds of user-made songs or create your own among other stuff. It's great.
http://www.stepmania.com/

Osu! - If you loved Elite Beat Agents on the DS, then this is for you! Customize how you want it and play all kinds of songs. Probably best played with a tablet pc.
http://osu.ppy.sh/

Frets on Fire - This is for you Guitar Hero fans! It's not much, but if you want to rock out on you keyboard, try it.
http://fretsonfire.sourceforge.net/

Thats all for now!

Ah, there's just too many anime mmorpgs nowadays...
Too little time...

For sonic fans, here's a fan game in case you've never played it before:
http://www.srb2.org/

Its called Sonic Robo Blast 2, which uses a modified Doom engine I believe, but has the classic Sonic look and feel. Worth a look.

Also I think Frets on Fire supports the 360 wired guitar.

That's cool. Probably better than using keyboard.

True, it's ackward, but a nice something I want to call it. If you have Unreal Tournament 2004, you can try a mod called Ashura: Dark Reign (http://www.fileplanet.com/194997/190000/fileinfo/Unreal-Tournament-2004---Ashura:-Dark-Reign-Tech-Demo), which is kinda neat, but glitchy.

I really wanted to try this game (http://www.bosser-jerome.com/sonic_the_hedgehog_gl_sonic_gl_3d_game_opengl_en.p hp), but there's no demo of it :(

Games you should try...hmm...

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. If you've ever even slightly enjoyed Star Wars you'll get a real kick out of this, the prologue as Darth Vader is plain awesome. Managing to throw a Stormtrooper THROUGH a Tie Fighter and watch said fighter fall onto an entire platoon of unsuspecting wookies = jaw dropping.

You should also tryyyy...Okami, if you've enjoyed Zelda but now admit at how horridly stale and ugly the series has become -_- play Okami, its beautiful, innovative and a genuinly good game. (I speak for the PS2 version, the Wii may have waggle and that will no doubt take away from the previously mentioned awesome)

Chu Chu Rocket and Sonic & The Black Knight!
Chu Chu Rocket is very fun the puzzles are excellent!
Sonic & The Black Knight is a very good game! Better than Unleashed and Secret Rings!
It's like both the games combined and made better!

Chu chu rocket was good fun. Puzzle games are best when you can make your own.

All zombie fans need to play Left 4 Dead, give it ten minutes and soon you'll be on the edge of your chair screaming for help XD or fighting as hard as possible to save your trapped friend.

...or in my case, staying on the helicopter, pointing and laughing XD

Nah, Silent Hill can only do that.

I beg to differ I scream down the head set everytime i get gang banged by groups of zombies and swear like a mad man every time a boomer pukes on me. Its pretty funny to watch me play it online.

Never happens to me :/ the only time is when a horde is released, I haven't attempted to play on expert yet so maybe I'm not seeing as many.

Shit its annoying though, every time you do well you get a slight thrill then feeling of dread as you know the director's gonna throw something bad at you, once I got a witch in the middle of the train on No Mercy, how am I supposed to dodge that?!

Landmaker and One Piece Mansion for the Playstation great puzzles games ;)

Not sure what Landmaker is, but I own and have played One Piece Mansion. It was weird and really short, not that great.

Rayman 2 for it's graphics and soundtrack.

I agree with that, but people really need to play the classic rayman as that one was great fun and it came with a level editor!

Has anyone ever played Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc? I want to know if that one is any good.

Dr Shaneman
06-03-2009, 14:25
Only Rayman on PC had that and I couldn't get mine to run on XP very well.
Rayman on PS1 I only played and enjoyed a lot.
Rayman 3 I have and yes it is good again for soundtrack and graphics. Plus the three doctors in it XD.

Wasn't a massive fan of Rayman 3 myself, it seemed to lose all the charm 1 and 2 had, though that may be because Ancel didn't actually work on Rayman 3.

Definitly, like the terrible voice acting, though apparently one of the Rayman 2 versions had voice acting aswell.

The PS1 version did but that had cut levels and terrible graphics.
