What is the best Dreamcast game graphically, I'd assume Soul Calibur is up there, but I'm not sure if its the best.

What game do you think looked the prettiest? (Regardless of game-play)

(And if this topic's been done, sorry, bored.)

Jet Set Radio has to be up there. There was a time when it was unique, and the world hasn't seen anything so awesome.

Other games? The two Shenmue's were very good, and still hold up nicely today against most PS2 games.

Jet Set Radio the cel shading was at the time jaw dropping.

Some of the Sports games for the Dreamcast looked pretty good. Sonic Adventure 2 and Rez looked good too. Resident Evil: Code Veronica was supposed to have good graphics too I think. Also there was Rayman 2. The best out of the shooter games would probably have to be Ikaruga, though some other shmups were pretty cool. Also for 2D games, I'd vote for either Marvel vs Capcom 2 or Guilty Gear X.

This is a matter of what art direction you like best. Probably for me shenmue and Jet set are up there. Both made me wet my pants when I saw them. (figuratively speaking i mean)

A agree with everyone saying Shenmue.
The game looked freaking awsome, specialy at time of release.

But theres another one that sets a new standard the time it released.
Not because of the many different Sets of Graphics, but most for the nice looking motions.... i`m calling about: Soul Calibur.

These are my favs. If i think back in later Times, ther has been Phantasy Star 4 that looks pretty damn cool for the Hardware of an Sega Genesis.

Thats from me. =o)
PS: Hopefully my english doestn suck to much, my nature-speak is german. =o)
PSS: Still hoping Shenmue 3 is coming to XBOX360 exclusivly !!!

^ nah your english is fine. Can't believe I didn't mention soul calibur. That really did amaze me the first time i saw it. I remember it has like a display mode where you pick your character and they do a martial arts routine in there style. Just blew me away at the time.

I must say I was pleasently surprised when I first say MSR as I didn't think the dreamcast was capable of such detailed graphics.:)

I would also say this game, it was a stunner.

I haven't played too many 2D fighters on Dreamcast, but I just love playing Marvel Vs Capcom 2 (pretty and colourful) , though its ending was a tad lame.

I think Space channel 5 part 2, Sonic adventure 2, and crazy taxi, had good graphics.

Crazy Taxi 2 was a little better than the first one.

Not by a lot mind, but it was better.

Are there any other cel-shaded games on the Dreamcast, other than Jet Set Radio?

I like the GCI image of Perfect Chaos.

oh my god....

Hell yes.. MSR was definitly looking great!
The only bad thing about that, was the bit too low gameplay.
There wastn much difference between 25mph and 80mph or more.

Nevertheless, MSR sets also a new Standard for Racing Games on Consoles.

Oh yeah! DOA2 was good too. Also, Ecco the Dolphin.

Maybe there should also be a thread for worst graphics.

I don't know about graphical technicalities, but I like PSO's art design and illustrious worlds.

Dead or Alive 2, yup. Good one.
I will say Rayman 2 was pretty good as well.

Yes, Rayman 2 looked and played great, others not mentioned that imo had fine graphics include D2, Sword of the Berserk, Test Drive Le Mans and two of the unreleased games Half-Life(looked as good as if not better than the PS2 version) and Propeller Arena looked amazing.
A couple of other cell shaded games Wacky Races and Looney Tunes Space Race looked pretty fine as well.
Many of the Japanese only games really show how good the Dreamcast is when it comes to graphics.
What is tragic is that we'll never really know what the limit for the Dreamcast was when it comes to graphics as it died way too soon. Mind you the Atomiswave did give us a taste of what could have been, and some of the games released on the other systems that were originally planned for the Dreamcast do show us the same as well.

Half-Life on Dreamcast is an abomination. I'm not sure whether or not it's because of the fact that it wasn't quite completed, but it eats memory card space up as if it's going out of fashion.

I'm using a whole memory card for one HL save file, and another one for the HL: Blue Shift expansion.

Yes, I do beleve the pre-realese version that is out there hasen't had the save file size optomised or something. I also heard the loading times are insanely slow.

I love the visuals on REZ, though I guess you can't really judge that game against others with it's unique design. I thought PSO was pretty nice looking. Sonic Adventure 2 was up there for me as an action platformer for sure.
