Hi folks!
I am a new saturn owner (I mainly collect super famicom games, am i allowed to say that around here?) Rossi46 has kindly showed me the way to this site!
Just picked up a boxed complete Jap saturn and 32 jap games from ebay
(Rossi already knows the games list, but will post it up if anyone wants to see it?)
Anyway dropped by to say hello to my new fellow saturn owners (and peers^_^) and learn some stuff about my new friend!

Will now go back and read through the previous posts before boring you with repeat questions:biggrin:

Welcome superfamiking. Eventually I may end up joining you in owning a Saturn--I haven't even played one before. Guess I keep holding out on hope that someday an emulator will be released and/or Sega will start re-releasing some Saturn games for modern consoles. ^_^

woo! go saturn!^_^ you've made a good choice Superfamiking, the Saturn is one of Sega's best consoles In my opinion. Tons of arcade classics and quirky underatred games for it! Which games are you enjoying so far?

Mufasa you should probably buy a Saturn too, It'l be a while before a decent emulator gets made. There are the PC ports and the Sega ages ports on the PS2 which you could get but theres only a few and they're all Sega made games.

Man! Everytime I look at that picture, then the price, I want to piss myself laughing, then cry in frustration. Some collectors take years to get a collection of that kind of quality.

It has taken me 8-10 years to build up my super famicom collection to more than 400 games (still 0ver 900 short of a full set though:wacko:)

But at least this way with the saturn it has given me a great start and now I can just pick and choose the titles I want

Also anyone know how many official Japanese saturn titles were released?

It was on ebay, listed for £60 UK, in an auction, so I asked if he had a buy it now price and he said because the machine and games were all Japanese :lol: He'd let it go for £70 if i wanted it!!!

Guess he thought people in the UK are only interested in Pal stuff:wacko:

(Stupid Child Labor Laws...)

You so remind me of myself at your age. I grew up before my body did. :) I had to save "allowance" to get my first Sega Genesis. I could have done it so much faster with a real job. Now I can technically get all the systems I want (within reason), but won't buy if I feel like its a bad deal (aka I want a Wii but I'm not paying the E-Bay extortion price)...

The Saturn is still playing around as an idea though. Checked out on E-Bay and found a similar deal, but it was all US Saturn stuff.

Ouch. That wouldn't even make my car payment, let alone my mortgage... Good luck on the job hunt!

I saw the collection at the beggining for £70 and oh my god that's so unfair! I have a modest collection of saturn games and lightguns etc. but jesus where did you find a deal like that!
I'm still looking out for:
Bug!
scorcher
Panzer Dragoon Zwei
Sonic JAM

Wow you got that many games ? ! What a deal !

Well I only got a Saturn and Sonic 3D and NiGHTS so I'm happy with that. Though now I don't have to go to the trouble in ordering online since there's a store in Clifton, NJ that sells old gen and new gen consoles as well as games, which I live close by.

I'm currently collecting PAL saturn stuff since i'm interested in playing them as well as collecting.
Japanese saturn stuff tends to go for less since it was a lot more popular over there, i was looking for a panzer dragoon Zwei and there were about 20 JPN versions on ebay, and not a single PAL!

Hi there!
I just bought a Sega Saturn! I never had one when it came out because I doubt my parents would've bought me one, even if I wanted one. And I never really paid attention to it either (Blame my local HMV for not pushing other Saturn games at its shop other than Street Fighter:The Movie).
I'm really impressed with the gameplay from it...and that's just NiGHTS! The 3D joypad pack with it makes NiGHTS easier to control, along with making the target in Virtua Cop 2 faster than its D-PAD counterpart.
But yeah, I'm looking for new titles to invest in, also a Virtua light gun is on the cards as I've always been a massive fan of anything SEGA do arcade-wise. I've seen 2 things that've caught my attention and wondered if any folks out there could englighten me:
A Sega 6 multiplayer port. Are there many games that involve six players for it? Can't think of any, then again I just bought the bugger! And a CD called Netlink web browser. I wasn't aware that you could hook up the Saturn in that kind of way. I thought the glorious Dreamcast was the first.

Anyways, enough ranting.

Viva la SEGA!!!

As for Saturn games you should try these: Shining Force 3, Panzer Dragoon 2, Christmas Nights, Guardian Heroes, Baku Baku, Sonic Jam, Mr. Bones, Dragon Force, Dragon Ball Z, Athelete Kings, Shinobi X, Sega Ages Vol.1. Some of them are very rare so you might have some dificulty finding them. As for the 6 multiplayer port, I can only think of Guardian Heroes.

Nice one! Thanks for the lists of games, I'll keep my eye open for them. Multiplayer Bomberman is legendary, no matter what console it is. The reason a opted for a Saturn was the good selection of arcade titles for it. Daytona, (Go Go) Sega Rally, fighting Vipers, anything with Virtua at the front of it! Is there also a crazy Taxi for the Saturn? I know the sequel was on the Dreamcast for defo. I feel like havng a rant about Arcade games but I'll leave that to the general forum or something.

talk to yous later!
Frankie.
