View Full Version : Recommendations?
So, as you may or may not know, I've recently gone and bought a scart cable for my DC, thus bringing it back to life alongside my next gen consoles.
To cut a long story short, I was browsing eBay, trying to find a couple of new games to play on it. I came across Blue Stinger and Urban Chaos, and might pick those up in a week or two if they're still there.
I was just wondering whether there's any other games you'd recommend to me. If possible I'd like for them to be games which I can't just go out and buy on PS2.
Let's see what gems you can come up with :)
Bangai-O
Carrier
Illbleed
Outtrigger
I've only played Bangai-O but I have heard the others are pretty good as well.
I've got Illbleed and Outtrigger. Tried looking for Carrier but it's a bit expensive at the moment (around £15 is the cheapest I've seen), and Bangai-O's even more expensive than that, so I'm gonna leave those for the moment.
They are games I've wanted though, so I'll add them to my list :)
Is Illbleed an import only game?
Yeah, but a friend of mine at college gave me a copied version he did off an ISO. Dunno how he did it, but it boots up without needing a boot disc or anything.
Did the same with Half-Life, which I also own.

For stuff not easily available on other consoles I'd go for:
Project Justice. Brilliant Rival Schools sequel. Everyone around here seems to love the japanese cartoon stuff that this game is riddled with so you might like it's style too. I'll warn you, It's quite crazy, you can even beat people up through the medium of synchronised swimming. Really.
Dynamite Cop. If you like killing people, killing people wih bread and fish, then I sentence you to this game.
Plasma Sword. Obscure fighting game involving people with dangerous yoyos amongst other things. Cheap and a laugh in two player.
Mars Matrix. Cracking good shooter, you'll hallucinate pink bullets for days after you've played it, is also one of the cheaper and easier to get ones as it came out in the US.
Fire Pro Wrestling. No, I don't like sweaty old men 'grappling' each other either, but this is still a fun game in 4 player, loads of modes, like a 40 man royal rumble and cage matches, if you can ever get past all the japanese menus.
Omikron. Good alternative to Shenmue (everyones played that by now), with an mental storyline and cool soundtrack by Bowie. You jump into peoples heads and take over their lives, even putting up with with crazy girlfriends along the way.
Sega Bass Fishing. I comes with a fishing rod. That is all I need to say.
One other thing. Don't, whatever you do, buy Blue Stinger. It's probably the second worse horror game I've ever played after Shadowman. Awful stuff.

Get these awewome games
Fatal Fury Mark of the Wolves
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
Guilty Gear X
Test Drive Le Mans
Ikaruga
Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Shenmue II
Dead or Alive 2
Soul Calibur
I'd personal reccomend:
sega rally 2 and MSR.
They are both prety good arcade racers.:)
I've actually got a fair few of those games as well XD The Nomad Soul (Omikron) is one of my favourite DC games, if I'm honest.
Thanks for the recommendations for Dynamite Cop and Plasma Sword though. Played the PSone prequel to Plasma Sword a few years ago, thought it was ace. Forget what it was called though.

From what I know about you, you probably have everything I'm thinking about. The only one I can think of is Ecco: Defender of the Future (although it came out for the PS2 later, it's better on the DC, of course).

Depends, what're you thinking about? :p
I have been looking at Ecco a lot, but I want to play the Mega Drive ones first and see if it's the kinda game I can buy into.

Of course, no wait, why is it better on the DC?

The of course part was because of me being a DC-fanboy! :P But I really think it's better graphically and camera-wise.

Man, I reccomend you "Toy commander". I've been playing it for almost 10 years! And is still a brilliant funny game.
Hmm, I'd quite like Marvel vs Capcom 2. Sticking point with that though would be the price, as it was quite rare over here.
Think I'll pass on Capcom vs SNK 2 though. Wasn't it just the same as the first one, albeit a year newer?

No it's quite a lot different in a lot of aspects, the most obvious being the maddening methods in which the first one makes you unlock things.
Either way, both games bore me compared to other Capcom fighters such as Project Justice or Power Stone. Plus you can get them cheaper on the PS1/2.
