Has anyone here ever played the fantastic awesome game, Bonanza Bros, because it seems here that no one knows of it. Well if you haven't played it, it's a brilliant game to try especially in co-op mode, and I would like to know what you other people think of the game...

It is an awesome game. You ever play the lightly enhanced version on Sega Classics Collection?

Yeah, I've played it. It's on the Mega Drive Ultimate Collection.

The music can get rather annoying, but the gameplay's pretty good.

I think one of the best parts of the game is the classic laugh you hear when you collect treasure. "muhaha" lol!

Very true. Or that holler they let out when they get hit.

Hmm, maybe I've given this game a bit of a harsh judgement.

I have a friend who loves it and he, at some unspecifiable but not too distant point in my past, tried to rope me into playing it at a gathering where there happened to be a Mega Drive. Now I'm sure the sober-respectable-young-man side of me would have loved the light natured ribaldry this game seems engender, but unfortuntely Bonanza Brothers and skunk don't seem to mix too well, so my memories of it are largely that is was a bothersome intrusion to the otherwise content 'Mr Chill'* inhabiting my head. A classic case of pearl before swine.

*I believe this is the official government term for this kind of thing nowadays.

I have played the arcade version on MacMAME, the Genesis version on SEGA Genesis Collection (PS2), and the enhanced remake (or, rather, re-release) that can be found on the SEGA Classics Collection (also PS2). It is still a sublime arcade classic, with some of the best co-op moments to be had (assuming your friend isn't an non-cooperative bull without the sense to take another route and get the valuables efficiently).

I find the arcade version to be the best, just because it keeps the vibrant colors and graphics intact, along with everything else.

Ah, Toe Jam and Earl, now there is a game that even an intoxicated ne'er do well like me can enjoy. And it's interesting you bring up faulty machinery, as the last time I played it the console being used parted with this world as I got to about the 3rd level. Coincidence?!

Coincidence?!That is rather sad, a bitter irony yes, and while playing ToeJam & Earl (How about that!).

Nevertheless, that is pretty much the best choice for a co-op romp for most of the time, although Bonanza Bros. can work well when your co-operator knows what he/she/Cthulu is doing. Yes, I'm certain that intergalactic space mega-lo-manics can play and enjoy Bonanza Bros.

I reckon Mega Drive's just can't handle the funk.

I reckon Mega Drive's just can't handle the funk.It seems so, as the ol' Mega Drive (Genesis in my land) can't put forth as many colors required to have a perfect conversion. The sprites are also smaller in their dimensions.

Then I started playing the game with my sister, and god damn it was an awesome game!!!
