Some of you may already know this, but I just thought I'd come out and announce that RadioSEGA now has an IRC channel.

It opened when we were attacked, but since the forums have reopened the only promotion it's had is in SJSSF's sig. So here I am, promoting :D

It can be found here: RadioSEGA IRC Channel (irc://irc.surrealchat.net/radiosega), and you can use any major IRC client, though I guess the two main ones would be ChatZilla for FireFox (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/16) or mIRC (http://www.mirc.com/).

Obviously, with the room being fairly new, there aren't many members in there, but feel free to pop in and have a chat every now and then.

I'll keep this thread open for general discussion regarding the channel, so if you've got any queries and stuff, feel free to ask and we'll try to help you out :)

Even if theres no-one or if theres Trygon there "Asleap" or "Away" either hang around or come back later. It also would'nt hurt to say "hi" to whoever's there as there attetion may be elsewhere and if you put there username there, they'll be alerted to the chat and know that theres someone there.

It's really empty in the IRC so don't be afraid, download the required IRC client and join in!!

Has the IRC gone down?

Not as far as I'm aware, I've just been on it.

Yeah, it's still there. Dunno what problems you're having Doc. Tried a different IRC client to the one you were using?

I will try the Firefox plugin at some point.

TONIGHT!

We're all going to gather in the IRC channel at 7pm GMT and tune into Radio 1, as they're going to announce the Top 50 Video Games of All Time, as voted for by the gaming public.

You don't need to be in the UK, as you can tune in online here (http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/radio1), though do be aware that it's live, so you'll have to figure out the time difference.

Anywho, come in and join us at #RadioSega just before 7pm GMT, and we'll discuss it all as it happens.

Count me in, though you'll be seeing alot of "What's that??" from me.

Gavvie

Well, this is from the whole history of video games, so I hope you'll recognise most of them.

Whether Radio 1'll play music from them, though, is another matter. Here's hoping.

EDIT: I think I might've told a porky, just been on the Radio 1 Big Gaming Weekend site, and they said they were compiling the Top 100 games, so it might be a Top 100, not a Top 50. Ah well, even more to discuss :D

It wasn't just Radio 1, it was 1Xtra as well. Two radio shows, get in!

My suspensions didn't go unfounded then. I'm glad I never actually got to listen to it now; If that's not a good enough reason to never listen to Radio 1 then I don't know what is.

I heard the beggining bit of the show, when they were on about the music off Fifa '98, but I assumed all they would do is fixate on the shitty licenced soundtracks for games and didn't bother leaving it on.

If anyone's planning on watching/reading the live conferences they should also join the IRC, then we can all laugh at/discuss the current conference (Nintendo today).

lol I joined and I found two guys sleeping/dead lying on a corner of an empty room with it's walls covered in plain text, -_-

then one of them woke up and started talking to me

I will drop in there more often, specially when I find news about the new Sonic game, I'm sure there will be rage, fear and other deep emotions going on the IRC channel.

* foreversonic edit: Threads merged *

Looking at the forums here it looked like this was the best place to put this thread.

I had to re-register the RadioSEGA chatroom on the surrealchat.net server. If anyone is still interested in this room please come in and talk.

I resurrected the IRC room. Everything is ok in there. I just wish that people would give it more attention . Because if RadioSEGA ever gets to having live shows it will be a great place to be instead of the forum at that time.

Thanks for that Trygon, I reckon the IRC will become a lot lot more active when Project Seven launches...

You're mighty welcome Mark. Don't worry I'll keep good watch over the room. If you wouldn't mind could you PM me a list of the users from the forum you wish to be on the Operator list. I haven't done anything to the room other than re-register it and set the topic. So its at a clean slate again.

IRC is a good idea. It most likely will become popular if you guys get live shows going. I'm 100% behind it all.

Well, I should try and show myself over there. It would help if more people were active though, cause I remember when it was just Trygon, myself and Shaneman.
Perhaps with P7 coming up things will change...?

I hope so Kool Chao. I think having a chatroom for an internet radio station can help it immensely.

Just thought I'd bump this thread, as with our live shows launching this Friday (read more here (http://www.radiosega.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1969)), hopefully we'll get more people active and using the IRC chat.

Certainly on my show it will be the primary method of contact, and I'm sure Gavvie, AAUK and other DJs will make use of it extensively too.
