I read about that. seems pretty cool how you can play homebrew and emulators on the cast straight from the sd card and also save on it. Seems quite nifty.

That does sound pretty nifty actually. Can't say with any certainty that I'd buy one, mind, but I suppose if the memory cards aren't quite enough for you, a 2GB SD Card should surely cover it.

Well in fairness I found the DC's memory cards to be pretty abysmal.

I didn't, but then I did buy a 4MB card, so I was always alright.

This sounds pretty cool for the DC. It'll gain more widespread throughout the web, inspire people to develop homebrew, and voila! Dreamcast Medicare: Keepin' it alive for as long as we can!

BTW, I still need to get a VMU for mine. I bought mine back in 2008, and it didn't come with one, so I was like "FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU..." I found some online, so my VMU troubles will be gone soon.

all in all its gonna be a great release, but what puzzles me most is: why would someone bring out a new piece of hardward for a machine that's been officially dead for 7 years
I mean why take the risk?

It's not really an official release though, is it? They still release DC games in Japan. Hell, up until around four or five years ago, games were still being developed for the Mega Drive!

It's just a community developer, making an SD reader for Dreamcast. I say he should be commended, to be honest.
