The info on the remake... (http://kotaku.com/5177601/new-wii-punch+out-details-sneak-out-from-nintendo)

...and the trailer. In my opinion, this is how anyone should remake "Punch-Out!!". (http://kotaku.com/5181934/now-this-is-how-you-remake-punch+out) <- (that's the link to the trailer. XD)

19 March 2009 – The legendary Punch-Out!! is back with a vengeance on Wii, but this time it packs an even bigger punch! Featuring all of the well-known characters from Glass Joe to Von Kaiser, superb duck and weave action, and the addition of enhanced functionality for Wii, the game returns for another assault on Europe on 22 May 2009.

After a flawless fight record on the NES and Super NES, Punch-Out!! revives the story of Little Mac as you follow his journey from up-and-coming boxer in the Bronx, NY to undisputed World champion. The game reunites the much-loved mean men of the World Video Boxing Association, who Little Mac must challenge and defeat one-by-one. The truly international line-up of characters includes all the wacky favourites from Von Kaiser, to King Hippo and tireless trainer Doc Louis.

In my opinion, this is gonna be really awesome. You'll get to use the Wii remote NES style too. :D

What do you think?

As someone who had Sega consoles as a kid, thus missing out on the goodwill and later nostalgia for this game, the news means nothing.

Sorry to sound so miserable.

Give the original a go sometime, it's still a fun game. Heck I never had a Nes and me mum wouldn't buy me boxing games so I never played Punch-Out!! till fairly recently.

I'm rather excited about this, since I'm fond of cartoony boxing games and the last two attempts (Facebreaker and Ready 2 Rumble 3) were pretty naff.

You actually played those?

The last cartoony boxing game I played was Ready 2 Rumble Round 2. That was ace :D

Not sure if I'll get Punch-Out!! though. Maybe when the price drops a bit, can't see me paying full price for it.

To be fair to R2R3 I haven't played it, but it is a third party Wii boxing game.

Facebreaker I have played and it wasn't anything special, or fun.
