Remember any glitches in a game that either helped you, killed you, froze your game, etc.? Feel free to put any glitches you remember about the Genesis/Megadrive console.
Like turning Sonic green in the Emerald Hill Zone in Sonic 2.

running too fast and skipping the hydrocity boss in Sonic 3 and then hitting the capsule and then not doing anything, as the boss was still behind me, so I couldn't progress to the next zone, I got angry!
I rember playing driver 2 and my car suddenly fell through the ground!XD God that game was just one glitch after another though.

Wouldn't this topic be more suited to the gaming general section? After all, it's not just Mega Drive games that have had glitches in them.
Yes though he specifically mentioned the Genesis system :P
Glitches I can remember would be Sonic Spinball letting my go right through certain barriers. Apart from that though...not many spring to mind :)

Sonic Spinball was a main one for me as Rayne said.
I agree with Sonic Spinball, but only cause the glitches made getting the achievement a big bag of dicks. I have it now though so I never have to play the game ever again.

I remember in Sonic 1, I going down the pipe thing in the green hill zone so fast, I hit the bottom of the screen and died.

I think they fixed that in the Japanese version.
What was it?
The achievement? Get 10,000,000 points in the first level.

I could never figure out the difference between the two.

I could never figure out the difference between the two.
One version is Japanese and the other is American.

The Japanese version made an second version which fixes multiple bugs like the one you mentioned and the spike bug. It also has "Press Start" text.

And people say that the new Sonic games are rushed. =P
@Topic:
One glitch I remember comes from Klonoa, Door to Phantomile.
In the fight with Baladium for the first time, I lost against him. (I just arrived with one heart)
When the game load again, I noticed the swing stopped completely, due to this I couldnīt hit him.
I decided to lose a life to try again.
When the game have loaded again, Konoa appeared in a black screen. Being the screen empty, Klonoa started to fall in it, reaching to the pit, and losing a life.
This process repeated since then.
After to reset the game, I won in the first try.

Actually, we're talking about the old game.

He means that people say the new games are rushed when it seems the old ones were too.

That's the first time I've heard about it. Never had any problem with Klonoa.

One time I was playing Boogerman, and all of a sudden, the entire floor disapeared and I got a game over.
P.S. should I move this topic to gaming general?

Does Sonic 06 count as a glitch? Just the whole thing.
On a serious note there's loads. I was playing Mass effect lately and had to restart a few times because my vehicle kept getting stuck in scenery.
The camera on Sonic adventure. I finished Mirrors edge last night actually and there's a bit in a mall where the section your in is blocked off by shutters but you can walk right through them like there not there. Could go all day.
On the new Prince of Persia abomination I kept having the wall disappear on me mid-wallrun making me just fall off. Not fun thanks to whatsherface's boring lifesaving animation.

This brings me bad memories.
When kid playing Megaman 3 on my original nes, in the Wily Fortress where you fight against the robot masters again, there was a possibility that when you defeat one of them, the teleporter could not work, leaving to you in the field stuck.
In the fight against Spark Man, in his original stage, there were times when after defeat him, the game could freeze.

Does Sonic 06 count as a glitch? Just the whole thing.I'd count it as one. One glitch I remember was from Need for Speed: Most Wanted (I was playing the Gamecube version). I really have no clue how it happened, but I couldn't purchase or sell cars. I had more than enough money to buy the car, but after I purchased it and chose the option to drive it when I leave the shop, I was driving my previous car! It didn't put the car in my garage nor did it deduct money from my pocket. It was as if I'd never purchased the car. I would go into a lot more detail, but I don't want to take up the whole page. Another game that was just a glitch in itself was The Simpsons: Hit & Run. Boy, did my friend and I have a good time f#$%ing s@#$ up in that game. XD
Oh, and Google "Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing". Worst. Game. Ever.

^Simpsons Hit & Run had millions of glitches.

Isn't Big Rigs the one where there's no gravity effect (hence you can drive up vertical surfaces), acceleration increases with speed with no limits, there's no steering, and the other racer has no AI, so it just sits there?
Best glitch I've ever experienced was in the original Driver. Never managed to make it happen again, but basically, I hit a cop car, went INTO the cop car, was fired out of said cop car at 45°, then "ponged" between buildings for a good ten minutes. Needless to say, I had no control over the car during all this. Gods I wish the film hadn't run out before that happened...
Left 4 Dead is my favourite game for glitches. Expert is impossible without them. Invincible freezers, the Jesus Room... ah, cheap, but oh so satisfying to do.

No gravity, no collision detections (just drive through the building!), none of Newton's Laws (reverse forever then stop right in your tracks!), no AI, and when you win a race, you're greeted with the triumphant title: YOU'RE WINNER!
The load of crap itself:

I looked that one up but sadly no one's put that on youtube.
I did find this though:

It looks like if you slide kick while it's transitioning to the next screen, then jump right after, it causes a few sprites to go wonky and for the music to eventually stop. o:
I looked up Big Rigs again just to be thankful I'm not into.. big rigs. Lol. Although Sega's 18 Wheeler game was fun. =D
Hm.. as for my personal favorite glitch..
If you enable debug mode and press B at the very end of Sonic 2 as he's running out of the Death Egg, the firey explosion will stay around Sonic. I discovered that a long long time ago. It was a really fun glitch; it seemed like a "BLAZE FLARE ULTRA SUPER SONIC" at the time, but I was younger than 10. <.<;

Oh! I remember this glitch! It happened to me too. I never thought I could remember it. ;-;

I decided to search about Big Ris, just saw a few videos, and I never saw a game with many faults. I needed a few laughs.

And as I talked about Megaman, I can remember a few from the SNES that I experienced, from Megaman X of course.
-MMX: I did this once. I wanted to finish the game without the dash upgrade. At the end of the Cast Roll, when X does the dash, only the half of him was shown (from the waist to up).
-MMX: Various times playing with passwords and trying to guess one, I could come to one, that completely load in a odd way. Nothing of health, X canīt move, and neither you canīt have control over the game.
^ Luckily, thereīs a video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiEMkXFybFg
-MMX2: This happens only in the Flame Stag Stage, and with a X-Hunter to fight. You goes where he is waiting. Donīt enter from the front door, go ahead, and enter from the exit, the back door. X will stop and you canīt move him. Considering the stage wasnīt finished, either you canīt escape.

The Sonic 2 debug mode caused hella lotta trouble. I've had everything from being stuck at boss levels (specifically the one where robotnik is behind the invincible wall and has the laser), to badniks appearing out of nowhere, to simply falling for now reason.
Okay admittedly that last one happened on Sonic 1 when my 3 year old sister was playing, but it was the same - debug mode, "invincible to everything except faulty programming".
