Who would win?
How would the story go?
Could ANYONE possibly survive!?!

(Note, the Grudge would also technically get Toshio, the cat-boy, but he would be practically useless anyway. He might influence story though so... worth noting.)

Hmm I don't know who will win between them, but you can decide how it ends...:

One dark night, a young couple were kissing in porch, of their house,

Veronica: It's getting a bit chilly in here...

Blake: Hmm *stops kissing*, yeah I.. I guess, *continues kissing*...

Veronica: Stop, I'm going to head in and get a sweater, I'll be right back.

Blake: Fine.. Hurry back.

Veronica goes inside and goes upstairs to get a sweater, she hears a Creak downstairs. Veronica says: "Ughh, Can't get enough of to wait huh?... Blake?" She walks down the stairs and looks outside still seeing Blake looking Vaugely into the night sky, she hears the creaking again... She sees the closet door opening slowly... Veronica catches a glimpse of Kayako's eyes, the door closes abrubtly, she run's to the front door, when suddenly it closes, Veronica screaming: "Blake! Open the door! This is not funny!" Blake hurries to try to open the door, It was closed shut. Veronica hears creaking and Kayako's water filled throat. Kayako Walks slowly to Veronica. Veronica Crying and begging:" Please!... please... dont.. Heeeelp!" Blake trying to break down the door but still couldnt manage to open it, Then.............

You Decide what happens next :) Hope I had you sitting in the edge of your seat wanting more. I just came up with that story as I wrote it... The Characters Veronica and Blake, are my friends :P. I'm a great Story Writer and Teller.

I never saw any of the Japanese versions, are they supposed to be scarier?

The Japanese Grudge was much much better than the remake. It made more sense to start with.

I'd imagine so, the point of Japanese horror movies seems to go right over Hollywoods head. That said I only bothered to watch The Grudge (US) and it was pretty terrible.

The US Grudge was laughable, more slapstick than anything else -_- at least the american Ring made a slightly more endearing attempt.

I vote Ring for all two :D Sadako is plain bad-ass, she's a psychic to start with.

They are. Hollywood just fucked em up.

They are. Hollywood just fucked em up.

Common misconception :) Hollywood did a different take on them, for the most part they were successful.

I don't think I've seen either of these films, but I do have something called 'Danny Oxide's: THE EYE!!!'.

Haven't actually watched that either now I mention it. But I might do. One day.

Samara's winning!?
How?! She does nothing but glare!

^Because she has crazy psychic heart stopping powers wheras grudge's power seems to extend to scaring cats and being really good at bending.

And crawling out of stuff, turning people into undead slaves, and attacking with copious amounts of hair.

^True, she does have hair powers....That's.....neat.

Sadako is a psychic :) she killed people just by looking at them, that's how scary she is.

The Grudge folks just wander around croaking, climbing out of any old thing XD it's hilarious

The cat boy is obviously a pervert.

He meows. The link was obvious, how did I not spot it?
Stair-boy, the evolved form of ceiling-cat!!!

I still don't see how people think samara could beat the grudge though...

richarddavies

Because Samara if anything is overly powerful. She can make people drop dead by thinking it. There'd be no fighting at all as whoever she's fighting would be dead before they started. No amount of hair would beat that. Even if she uses head & shoulders.

Nah, that's Sadako. Samara scares people until they fall into stuff. And she can only crawl out of screens (at least as far as I have seen), so seal yourself in a house wih no TVs or computers and you're set.
Heck you could still go out shopping and stuff, just be sure to never get left alone.

But the grudge... Kayako'll pop outa anywhere (beds, mirrors, photographs, hoodies), and stair-boy (along with his cat) just appear anywhere they want. They don't even need to come out of stuff, they just appear.

Are there any other japanese-inspired revenge type female ghosts that could get involved in this fight? I can't say I've seen many of this sort of film... Dark Water, perhaps?

I say give them both swords and we have a good fight to watch.

I watched the american Dark Water, it was the single worst horror film I have ever seen.
