Bah, this got moved before I could edit it - I'd only written half of it and then the phone rang. ;)

---

So today's a hot, bright day, so I went to the shops for a bag of chips and a bottle of Irn Bru, my NC10 under my arm, the net dongle and headphones plugged in, and strolled along to Radio Sega!

Awesome. :rockin: With the advent of hyper-awesome portable technology, I guess the net is all over the place now. Personally I'm still not up to date with whatever the hell iphones and blackberrys and eBlancmanges are. But surely I can't be the first to enjoy RadioSega on the move? Do you? And how do ou do so? Maybe it's through your phone, or your futuristic watch or something. Maybe you're like me and syphon the train station's bandwidth while on the train. ^_~

I tell you what, having been at Sheffield University the other day, I'd love to sit near those fountains with a workbook and RS blasting. *Thumbs up*

XD Mate, there's a GD thread 'What I'm thinking right now' that's where people post stories with no real point, like this one :P

Ah, the story might not have a point, but the thread does. :) Since I got my NC10, the wonders of portable internet have astounded me. Just wondering how you all get your RS fix (or anything else!) if you aren't in the house. :)

It was me that closed this thread for it's pointlessness yesterday but to be fair to the captain he said he hadn't finished typing it up. If he's just asking people what they listen to radiosega on that's fair enough, if noone wants to post they don't post. On topic I've honestly not tried anything other than my pc to be honest but im sure someone's mentioned on here before about using there psp to listen to Radiosega.

Hm, it's a good idea for a thread, but it originally had a pointless name. Also you posted this before you finished typing up the opening post? Why?

Anyway, I've never really tried to listen to RadioSEGA on the go, though I guess if I was in a wifi hotspot I would probably listen to it on my PSP.

I've used my PSP and Wii before. Wii cuts out after 15 minutes though. PSP is probably the better option for an alternative.

I can't even gt Radio Sega to work on my P.C. anymore. I don't think Norton Antivirus likes it.

Norton is the devil. I've been called in to fix tons of PCs that wouldn't connect to the net - they all had Norton on. Uninstall it and all is well.

Personally, for protection I use Zonealarm and Avast. And Durex.

Yup, that sounds like sterling advice. I think it has something to do with its all pervading firewall that won't let anything remotely irregular through. Took me long enough to get it to co-operate with AOL's browser.

Why are you using the 2 most evil internet-based programs in all existence, together!?
Get Firefox. Get... another antivirus/spyware. I use Spyware Doctor with Antivirus, and it's never let me down.

But on topic: The only thing I have that can access the internet (properly) away from home is... nothing.
But luckily, the school computers CAN access it, so if I ever get bored in ICT i switch it on and start ignornig the teacher.
... not that I pay attention to him anyway.

Lol, it was in the package I got with the computer (I think the staff at P.C. World saw me coming), and haven't bothered to change anything since. I'm always torpid when it comes to doing stuff like that, software scares me.

Don't be scared - purge it. Actualyl that may not be the best advice, I treat my computer horribly in terms of software (moving core files around, messing with the OS, copying entire games but forgetting the copyright kicks in and only copies half the files...), and it's tried to kill me 3 times. No joke.

Most PC's come with it now-a-days. My laptop did and I only used it untill the years subscription was over.

PC World get paid a crapload of commission by Norton to include it on machines. But here's a bit of background info:

PC World gave my parents a laptop as a loan while theirs was being repaired. A super top of the range Blu Ray one. They got it home... wouldn't connect. Took it back, PCW said it should work now. Took it home, still didn't connect. Again returned it, PC World basically said, "We think it'll work now, but if not we don't know why".

They took it home and again it didn't connect, so I had a look. It had Norton installed, but it couldn't be uninstalled as PCW's administrator account was passworded. So I went into safe mode and turned on the Admin account, and completely removed Norton.

Straight away, it worked!

Seriously, get rid of EVERYTHING to do with Norton via Add/Remove Programs and get these:

Zonealarm Free Firewall (http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/free/1025_update/zaSetup_en.exe) (Don't bother with the free upgrade it offers)
Avast Free Antivirus (http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html)

I once had Avast installed on my PC, but personally I prefer AVG. I had a couple of problems with Avast.

I'm so jealous. I'd love a Samsung NC10 as it looks such an awesome little machine. When Windows 7 comes out I'll probably give in, but I'd love one now! (as I can't see the point in buying a Windows XP machine when the first thing I'd do is get rid of Windows XP from it)

Anyway, on topic, one of the great things about owning a smartphone (in my case the Windows Mobile 6.1 powered HTC Touch Diamond) is that you can normally listen to internet radio using them which, along with my bundled data, means I can listen to RadioSEGA on the move using the same device as I listen to my other music!

You gotta love modern technology!

I wish I could find a way to get my phone to connect to radiosega... but it SUXXORS very badly. It barely even accesses the internet. Still, I'm not much for all this modern tech - games consoles (including comp) and TVs are where I focus on getting "high tech" stuff. Mobiles are for texting, and phoning when you can't text.

My phone can get on the forum but not the radio itself. My internet isn't free either on mine so I can't get on for long, well too expensive with O2.
