Just put this up incase anyone has a small question regarding xbox or the xbox services as I have a question myself.
I signed up for the first time with my xbox online (just silver at the mo) I was signed in on my profile but when I tried to join it said I needed to log out of my current profile to sign up. I did so and joined but as it made me log out I now have a seperate profile for online and my original one that has all my gamerscore points on. Did I do something wrong or do they have to be seperate?

Do you have a Windows live account?
I'm sure you can just try to log on using that with your main profile.

Yeah I do that annoyed me too. The first question to set up was whats my e-mail. Fair enough, second question what is your current password for live messanger? I've never even clapped eyes on live before in my life and it's asking me what my password is, neither did it have an option to join it and it wouldn't let me past that step unless I was. That was a twat.

If you're still on silver, then you're not wasting any money if you sign up your other account. If you have any specific details about exactly what pops up when you try to sign up, that might help.
But now that you've made the other account... I dunno, you might have to delete it.

Delete that online account you have and make a Windows Live one on the PC. Might work.

I'll give that a try thanks. In terms of specifics just when I was trying to look around on games, video's etc, because i'd not joined yet all the catagaries just said join xbox live if I tried to click on them. When I did a box pops up saying to sign up you have to log out of your current sign up. would you like to? Didn't have much choice so I signed out, but now I have a new profile. I'll just delete it and try it how Rek says. Thanks.

*Nods in agreement* If you're going to buy anything from Live then get one of those code redemption cards from the shops.

I've had no problems, but then I hear it's mostly with cancelling.
It's a fucking nightmare, whatever you do, stick with pre-paid cards.
To cancel your Live account you need to phone their indian call centre and talk for at least 20 minutes, it's ridiculous, there's no other way to cancel. There's also no way to delete a credit card from your account once it's been linked.
So my Xbox is never used but I'm still unable to remove my card details from it.

Indian? They sounded Dutch to me...
But surely PSN has similar problems?
XD XD XD XD XD
PSN is free for a start, when managing your credit cards you can add or delete any, whenever you like :P no worries about fucking subscriptions and no need to ever phone their helpline :S don't think they offer cards in the UK but there's no real need for them to do it.

Whatever you do, don't give microsoft your credit card details.Aww crap, I gave 'em three. I'll try looking into how to remove them.
Found out how. If you entered credit card info on XBL and you want to remove it, try this:
1. Sign in with your XBL account @ http://www.xbox.com
2. Next to your info at the top-right of the screen, there should be a drop-down menu with "My Xbox". Drop the menu down and select "My Account"
3. In the left navbar, select "Manage Payment Options"
4. Next to the credit card information that you want to remove, click "Remove"
That should be it. You may receive an error saying something along the lines of "Cannot remove at this time. Try again later." (sounds like a magic 8 ball :P).
