I'm hoping most of you here have played at least one Guitar Hero game. If not, then why not?!?!

Anywho, if you have, then which ones have you played, and how good are you?

As an extra bullet point for this post, if you've played GH3, and have created a profile on Guitarhero.com, then why not link us to your profile? Here's mine (http://www.guitarhero.com/accounts/307745).

I've played all four of them (1, 2, 80s and 3), and my Guitar Hero profile is for GHIII on PS3.

I've only played the first, since it's a cold day in hell when i fork out £20 for just a few songs since I don't want a new guitar.

One day I might get 2 but not 3 its soundtrack just doesn't interest me nor do I know anyone else who actually likes the game (the freaks) so that means that co-op mode songs are closed off to me (and lacking any decent next gen system downloadable content aswell *sigh*).

I'm not brilliant at the game only daring to go into hard mode when at my most drunk (what the hell is that orange fret buttons problem?).

I'm getting better with the orange button. I actually managed to 4* Bulls on Parade (GHIII) on Expert the other day, which was a bit of a surprise because I thought I'd messed up big time with the solo.

I have GH1 for the PS2 and GH3 for the Wii. Really fun game but I'm not very good at it, easy is a breeze medium not to bad but I cant do hard or expert to save my life.

I have the first three of the Guitar Hero range on the PlayStation 2.

I'm getting Guitar Hero 3 for Christmas. (again for the PlayStation 2).

When the game came out, I thought, "Nah, not my sort of game". It wasn't until my trip to Georgia in America that a friend of a friend introduced me to the game. I still have a record score on his memory card!

I have been collecting the others ever since. I play most of the songs in Hard mode. I have played some in Expert but they're only the more "tuneful" songs.

I have played Guitar Hero 2 for the Xbox 360 because my brother owns it, but he's at the other home so I don't get to play that often.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Guitar Hero: Sonic Edition. That would be cool.

Guitar Hero III for the Xbox 360 is my first experience of the game, and I really like it. Problem is that I'm not very good at it and while I have 5*'d every song on easy, moving to the blue button is a bigger step than I'd imagined - it's not pretty...

Oh and Gavvie - good idea. Although there is a link on my website, you can see my GH3 profile directly here - http://www.guitarhero.com/accounts/307313

^ To be honest, you should've probably started off with GHII. GHIII's Medium mode is a lot harder than GHII's.

That said, GHIII has the better soundtrack in my opinion, so..you win some, you lose some.

What about the lottery in which case you lose everytime?
Anyway, ive seen a lot of people carrying the huge boxes to checkouts this christmas. More than ive ever seen to be honest so maybe number 3 is the best of them so far.

It's the one I play the most, but then the PS3 guitar won't work with the PS2 games, and I can't be arsed to go downstairs to my old PS2 and plug the original guitar in, so that's probably why.

That and it's got Muse on. Can't beat a bit of Muse :D

I usually don't play games like this since I prefer to play my actual guitar. A mock up toy like guitar with buttons doesn't interest me much. But since I am broadening my gaming view (I'm buying a Wii, that says a lot), anyone able to provide any reasons why this game is a keeper? Or is it one you put down in 5 minutes?

I haven't played one, and I have no interest ius doing so.

If I'd want to play guitar, I'd learn to play real guitar.

I'm more for Dance Dance Revolution.

Generally, I don't play games like this but I picked up guitar hero III today and I've been enjoying it. I can play pretty damn good on easy but the second I throw the blue button in, I get owned.

Well GH3 is my first Guitar Hero game and I was like you! Easy was a challenge but do-able - medium, don't go there! However, I'm slowly but surely getting into medium. Don't get me wrong - I'm not ace-ing it by any stretch of the imagination. However, it can be done so stay with it! Bloody painful on the fingers though....

Yeah, your hand cramps up after playing for a while.

You'll get used to it. Now, the orange button...that's a bit of a bitch.

They may as well have shipped my guitar without the orange button. Other than in battle mode, it ain't going to be used!

You'll feel comfortable with it one day, just you wait.

Bulls on Parade on Expert..oh yes. That's good fun :p

I beat the game and every song accept raining blood or whatever it's called. Man....that's one hard ass song.

Raining Blood was the only song I failed on easy. Plus, it was also the last song I five starred too. I'm not looking forward to doing that song on medium...

It's not fun on Easy, at all.

Nor's Through the Fire and Flames by Dragonforce, though that one's even harder on Medium. 360 players, I'd love to see you pass that one on Expert :p

My lil bro has all guitar hero games except for the Wii version. I have seen the Wii guitar that in Virgin Megastores and I thought it was really cool. the price was €100 I didn't have enough money so I decided to buy DragonForce (Heavy Metal band). I'm gonna play guitar hero when I come back from Switzerland.

There is another thread regarding Guitar Hero in general here (http://www.radiosega.net/forum/showthread.php?t=683&page=3), but nevermind :) Just remember to look for a topic first in future, k?

Anywho, to stay on topic for this particular one (before it gets merged), I've got Guitar Hero III on PS3 and I personally think it's the best in the series, though I do wish the DLC was on the PlayStation Store in the UK as it is in the US. Because of Sony/Activision/Whoever, we've not got the Holiday DLC yet :(

Awesome. Now we're just needing more DLC for PS3 to turn up..hopefully it will sometime, though I reckon We Three Kings is a bit late now. :(

Why don't people just buy a guitar and play that instead? I did. :P I'm sure I've seen this in a Jackie Chan film years ago. Yeah pretty positive. Guitar Hero has to be a copy of another game. -_-

Gavvie

Well, the only other Guitar Hero-esque game would be Konami's Guitar Freaks, which is an arcade only game, so whilst they're similar, I'm sure the two can co-exist.

Query: How did this thread end up in the Nintendo section? o_O

Good question. According to the thread history, it started in Nintendo. I'd guess an accidental one off click. I've moved it into Gaming General.

It's time to emerge this thread from the dead. I just got Guitar Hero III on the PS3 and it's freaking sweet! Really, if anybody buys the game, the money you pay for it will be well spent. ^^

Maybe you want to tell us why and give us your arguments, because saying like that "Rock Band is better" is pretty much the behavior of a furry fanboi. =)

I actually love Guitar Hero lots. I have every single Game, (GH1, 2, 3, 80's, On Tour, and Aerosmith), and I also have Rock Band. All on PS2 except On Tour as it's on the DS. I am on hard, and personally, I prefer Rock Band more.

Oh Rock band is better because you can do more than just play guitar. Drums are a blast and you can laugh at the people who try to sing. XD

Guilty but Sound Reaper got me where I am in that department ;).
I never thought I would be any good at it though as I generally suck at this sort of thing.

But what's awesome in the previous Guitar Hero is that if you downloaded the game, you could put custom songs...*thinks on playing some Guns N' Roses that aren't on the games*

In terms of which series is better...well...I got 3 words:
I DON'T CARE!!!
Now more words:
They are both awesome!! World Tour and Rock Band 2 are supercrazy!
I just bought World Tour. I would've gottenn RB2, but I am a sad sack who owns a PS2.

Ok, I had the patience (after making a video) to create my GH Community account now. (It was the main purpose of this thread second speaking about all of the GH games. XD)

My profile's right here:

Uh..both GHs on DS, which I can almost complete on Expert, but I've only gone as far as Medium on Playstation.

So did I...but Knights of Cydonia on Hard makes my fingers want to dive into ice. XD
I don't have the DS ones, are they different compared to PS2/PS3/Wii/X360 versions?

There's only four buttons and they're set closer together so it's alot easier in my opinion because my hand seems to fit the grip perfectly, but people with bigger hands and fingers often have a hard time with it.

Music quality's a bit poo as well, as you might expect.
