What is the one game that you love playing so much that you will never forget it?
for me it's Puyo Puyo 15th Anniversary.
Reason being it has the most characters to choose from, loads of different rulesets and an awesome soundtrack.

To me, it's NiGHTS for the Sega Saturn. The reason ... ? Simply put, I still enjoy playing it, it has awesome gameplay, great design and it's very addictive.
Very tough for me but out of many I'll say Beyond Good & Evil. Simply put it has a well written story to it great design some great music.
Thats just one game but there are so many unforgettable games for me that I will love forever.
Mines is Goldeneye 64 as it was my first game I ever owned and that it has an awsome single player mode and adictive muti-player fun!^_^
I'm not sure really. I'm tempted to say Final Fantasy X as it got me into the Final Fantasy series, but then there's been other great games I'll take to the grave with me like Burning Rangers, which is the best damn Saturn game period.

For me Right Now is Sonic The Hedgehog 3. It was so memorable and it was fantastic to play with Sonic & knuckles in 1994.
But I have a feeling it will soon be replaced by Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

The games that I will never forget are... ...
Sonic Adventure, for platformers, a great title, original, and excellent soundtrack.
Puyo Puyo SUN, for puzzles, the first who introduces a real anime style and gesture, nice soundtrack, and the first time you can play with most of the characters, many of them very popular and not forgettable.
... And the first Iīve played. :P

I would say that about Puyo Puyo 4 but the battles went on for blooming ages to a point where you would think "When will it end". I think introducing fever mode was better than adding super attacks.
If I had to go for a game soundtrack I'd never forget, I'd say Sonic Adventure as well.
If we're talking games based on soundtracks alone, then I'm changing my choice to Skies of Arcadia because of The Great Silver Shrine, although both Shenmue's come very close.

It's for the actual game but I thought i'd choose my favourite for soundtrack aswell since BluePuyo brought it up.
Yeah, I know, I'm just adding my two pennies to the conversation ^_^
To be truthful, I have lots of games that I'll always cherish, but I'd never be able to list them all. It'd take too long.
Easy without a doubt Super Mario Allstars on the SNES simply because it was the first video game I ever played. That and it had a nicer looking version of the best Mario game ever (3).

Ah yes, that had "The Lost Levels" on which was the Japan version of Super Mario Bros. 2. That was a challenge of a game, especially with poison mushrooms. It's hard enough to stay alive as it is.
Yea I wasn't that fond of The Lost Levels, in fact I thought it was more of an expansion for Super Mario Bros. not a full sequel (although that is pretty much what NES sequels were).

Jaja, Is true. XD
Puyo Puyo 4 is a great game, improving all aspects carrying versions of puyo puyo earlier, compared with SUN.
Fever mode is a great addition, I have become crazy playing in 4 to 15th anniversary against CPU, it's really exciting. XD
Puyo Puyo Fever 2 and 15th Anniversary games are excellent.
As Your topic refers to "The one game you will remember and love forever", and not the best game, so I appointed the first game that I played. ^_^
I'm probably going to be a very oddball on this one. The Sega Master System was what started my love for Sega. The one game on it that I will remember and love forever... "Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap".
It has both my first Sega memories and strong memories of my childhood as video games entered my brother and sister's life for the first time. -_-

I'd have to say Sonic for the Genesis and Sonic for the Dreamcast are ones I'll always remember and cherish. I just can't choose one. But if I have to choose one besides Sonic, it has to be Halo. I can't stop playing it. I still only have Halo PC, but I love the game and am hooked on multiplayer battles. It never seems to get old for me.

That's a hard question, I just can't answer with only one game title.
I'm pretty sure that I will even remember and love Sonic after my death.
A game, which I will always love is "Puyo Puyo Fever". It's just fun, every time and anywhere! I love it.
The game I will always remember is NiGHTS, it was really an experience to play it.
I thank Sega for these great experiences.

Very true looking back over the years SEGA seems to have made games that have aged very well and are seen as classics that people will always love. Its just a shame that the stuff SEGA of today make won't be remembered after 10 years or so, I doubt anyone will look back and say The Golden Compass is a SEGA classic.

For me, it is so freaking easy. My number one favorite game of all time is easily Super Mario Brothers 3. Gosh...I remember when I got that game; it was so freaking fun and everything! I even remember read an article a while back saying that Shigeru Miyamoto already mastered the 2-d platformer when he made that game. So...many...secrets in that game! (Like the one in world 1-3. Near the end of the stage there's this white block. Ya get on it and duck...soon you're in the back ground! Run to the right and you'll get a whistle!) The Power-Ups...heh...Raccoon Mario and Hammer Mario for the win!
"Find the magic wand so we can change him back."
I can't decide between Final Fantasy 7 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
FF7 took me 5-6 months to finish, being about 9 when I first got my hands on it, and I loved it the whole way through. Many memorable things there. I shed a tear when I finished it, because I didn't want it to be over.
Sonic 3 and Knuckles, I played originally with my best friend, about 5-6 years old. Took us quite a while to finish, the infamous Carnival Night problem stopped our progress for a while, but when Sonic the Comic solved it (back in Year 5), we pressed on, and soon had Hyper Sonic/Tails/Knuckles/Sonic with Tails. 100%, hell yeah. Great times, S3+K is the main game i'd sum up my childhood with. But it's not enough over FF7, hmm...
I remember the first time I got Hyper Sonic. I felt so ecstatic :D Hyper Knuckles had nothing on him, HK was pretty much Super Knuckles, but you had to get 14 emeralds to get him.
Hyper Tails, on the other hand: Best one ever! I loved the fact that the Hyper Flickies went off and killed baddies for you. It was brill :D
I heard it's Super Tails, not Hyper Tails. But Hyper Knuckles was Pink, so yeah, he had nothing on Hyper Sonic. That first time amazed me, I was oohing over the rainbow colours. Felt on top of the world, hah.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles is a excellent game, is one of my favorites together with "Adventure", "Advance 3" and "Rush".
Carnival Night jeje, I remember when I was little and tried to overcome this scene (I guess it is one that you need to jump on a platform to achieve it came down). That scene I was crazy at that time.
Super Tails, Hyper Knuckles and Hyper Sonic, wow, memories, the first time Iīd become into Hyper Sonic I was very excited.

Hyper Sonic was pretty awesome. The first time I got it I was amazed (since I'd such a hard time getting that last emerald) and he was a clear evolution from Super Sonic. I guess one of the most memorable features in Sonic 3 & Knuckles were the "ultimate" transformations. Hyper Knuckles was the least impressive, but he still can generate "shockwaves" when he hits a wall.

Sonic The Hedgehog and NiGHTS into Dreams, end of story.
Does....does Sonic 3 and Knuckles even count as one game? Is it not two games connect Power Rangers style to make one bigger game, but really it's two games right?
Also as a continuation of my chosen game I downloaded the FDS Mario 2 pretty fun playing it in its original graphics.
Together, it's one game. It was meant to be just Sonic 3, but lack of time meant they had to split it into two games. With lock-on, I think it still counts as one. You can unlock it in Mega Collection as a stand-alone game, so yeah..
I will always remember Outrun with a smile in my heart! Even remeber when i first played it in the arcades as a kid. This game made me a Sega and Yu Suzuki fan!! If only i could find that Outrun arcade cabinet!
Well, it's not my all time favorite (since I like all games) but the one I'll remember is Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Genesis. It's the first Sonic game I played and the one that got me into the series, hehehe speed, faster, faster, faster, I think that might be my favorite thing about those games.
For me it'll always be Metal Gear Solid, not only was it the most epic and amazing game to ever grace the PS1, it was also given to me by meh grandfather :3
Though it could also be Dragonball Z Budokai 2, I remember being so amazed at the opening and playing it literally every day with everyone :P

I personally don't think you should count Sonic 3 and Knuckles as one game. Okay, it was fun when you lock them toghether, but they were still seperate retail releases and you should judge them on their own merits. It's too easy to say S3 & K is the best, of cours it will be, it is the two most accomplished games mashed toghether.
My favourite game will probably be the cliched choice of Shenmue. I don't think I'll ever forget playing through that wonderful, picturesque game as it was snowing outside my house in real life. A brilliant Christmas.
Probably have to say FF7, since it was my first try at an RPG, opened my eyes to a new genre, helped me getting alot better at english, and was the first game I finished. (yeah, I was really bad at videogames as a kid)
Sonic 2, and Wonder Boy in Monster World are probably the runner-ups.

True, they were seperate releases, but it's pretty obvious that they're suposed to be played together. Sonic 3, on it's own, is incredibly short compared to it's prequels. (sonic 1 has 18 levels and Sonic 2 has 20 levels, while Sonic 3 has only 12) There's also the fact that S&K takes place directly after S3, they use the same character sprites in both games, and the special stages are the same. And the final boss of Sonic 3 was pretty lame compared to the epic final in Sonic 2.
That, and S&K would probably be called Sonic 4 if it was a real sequel.

They were originally planned to be one game but due to time issues they split them up.
Killer French Bread
28-09-2008, 18:09
Loads of games have stuff cut out of them because of time issues though. That's the way the industry goes. That Sonic and Knuckles isn't called Sonic 4 doesn't man a thing either, countless games have prefixs by the time they get the the 4th iteration.
The fact is the games were released separately and can be played separately. They are separate games. You had to spend quite a lot a the time to get the combination of them both too, I didn't know anyone who had them when it was out, just one or the other. Only now when you can download the two roms in a few seconds does the marriage seem so convenient.
Dr Shaneman
28-09-2008, 19:17
I can see your point there, it gets classed as it's own game mainly because it has it's own title but it's still two separate games.
I will always remember and love the Mega Man classic games, even if they die out.

29-09-2008, 10:03
It's well know that Sonic 3 and Knuckles was meant to be a single game, but cartridge sizes and production costs made them split it. You could say that Sonic 3 is a seperate game to Sonic and Knuckles, would that make Sonic 3 and Knuckles different to both of those games though? You can't be Kncukles in Sonic 3 and you can't be Tails in Sonic and Knuckles so it's not just one set of levels plus another set, it's both but with added features and to me that makes it a whole new game.
Would you say Fighters Megamix was two games?
Killer French Bread
29-09-2008, 10:58
No because that is on one disc and was released as one game. Sonic 3 and Knuckles is two games put together too unlock a bit of additional content.
Not that this is off-topic or anything :P
I would see Sonic 3 & Knuckles as more of an expansion pack than a single game, like French Bread said, released as two games and then meshed together...

Like when they release some games as 1 & 2 combined. They've being doing that for the PSP a lot.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles is still one game, Sonic & Knuckles never was the sequel of Sonic 3, but yes its 2nd half of the game, and is easy to notice it.
With the Lock-on feature they wanted to bring us the final product.

That post so wrong on so many levels, but I can't be arsed with this argument anymore.
Dr Shaneman
30-09-2008, 16:48
The lock-on technology was actually a way of making up for the fact that the developers could not meet the deadline for Sonic 3. Originally, Sonic 3 was to be released with Knuckles as a playable character, and with all the Sonic & Knuckles levels playable (the level select screen in Sonic 3 features inaccessible Sonic & Knuckles levels and music for said levels can be played in the sound test). Time constraints forced them to split the project in two, releasing Sonic 3 with the completed levels and continuing work on the uncompleted ones, plus adding the Super Emeralds, and the lock-on feature.
Does that help anyone?

Weīre stuck here, better letīs move. ►
Megaman X4 is another game that Iīll remember forever, even at this day I can see that so brilliant is.
Still with Megaman, Megaman Battle Network 2 or Rockman EXE 2, awesome, fun, and very entertaining. Itīs a pity that the serie fell critically with EXE 4. EXE 4 and EXE 5 were the games I couldnīt enjoy to the max.

Well I'll say one last thing, partially motivated by the fact the attempt to get the topic back on track sees the reapperance of that bloody Megaman guy, and that is many, many games miss content because of deadlines and restrictions, so to me that is not a valid excuse to call Sonic 3 half a game (or vice versa). But whatev's.

That's very true, if a game nowadays loses a level because of time constraints its still considered a full game...
Anyway, Pokemon Red! One of the most amazing games for me!

I am being a bit misleading actually, I did play the game when I was on holiday once. For a few days I robbed my brothers gameboy and this was the only thing he had, but the most amusement I seemed to get out of it was in trying to level up a pidgeon to tyrannical proportions.

Sonic CD for being my very first game ever, and the one who showed me what SEGA could do.
Rayman 2, my first 3D platformer, It was so cool, the levels, the characters, the music, everything!
Puyo Puyo SUN for N64, dunno I liked it a lot, it's cool when it's songs are broadcasted in RadioSEGA, remembers me the tough matches a friend and I had back in those times.
Megaman 64, oh boy, I played it so much, we "raced" with a friend of mine to see who could grab all the guns, we kinda "tied" because we ended asking each other where to find the parts to make certain gun.
Harvest Moon 64, my little farm got real big, I actually made several games to play it again and again from scratch.
well I think that's it :)
