Welcome to the New RadioSEGA!

Welcome to the new RadioSEGA.net! Two and a half years in the making, this brand new site sports a new look, alongside some fantastic features that we've been dying to show you. This article will highlight them, and really show the changes we've made.

Straight off the bat, you'll notice that the homepage is no longer just a blog. We've always wanted the homepage to be a hub of sorts, with branches for SEGA news, features and game reviews, and the old blog was a compromise once we noticed that Project 7 was going to take a little longer than anticipated. Everything is now sorted into its respective sections, and as such is a lot easier to find! Show blogs, which we'll go into a little bit later on, can be found as well as our most recent features, reviews and news. There's even a little Twitter widget!

You'll also notice that the Now & Next box is no longer at the top of the site, as it was previously. Now, it's to the right hand side. Requested tracks will now display the name of the member who requested them, so there's no hiding that guilty pleasure of yours! Eventually, every single game in our Playlist will have its own album artwork, which will display as a track from that soundtrack is displayed. It's not quite there yet though, so for now it's a static Sonic 2 image. Continuing on down, you'll also see that Upcoming Shows will be featured (again, a feature coming very soon), and you can also see the Top 5 Requests and recent forum topics. I'd like to think these two are pretty self explanatory.

Moving on from the homepage and onto the next section, Playlist & Requests. Previously, the Playlist was a very long list of every song from every game, and searching for a particular track could be a real hassle. Now, we've condensed it into a nice and simple A-Z list of games. Clicking a game name will take you into that game's soundtrack, and from there you can request a track or, in one of our new features, you can favourite it. Favouriting a track will put it into your Favourites list, allowing you to quickly and easily request them without having to trawl through the entire Playlist again. The Playlist & Requests section also shows you your Top 20 most requested songs, along with RadioSEGA's Top 40.

Skipping the Listen to RadioSEGA part, which is largely the same as it was before, we move onto Shows & Podcasts. When you click here, you'll be taken to the Show Blogs, which will detail the latest news from all your favourite RadioSEGA LiVE shows. You can also find archived blog posts, as well as our current schedule, and information on our past or off-season shows. You can also find out how to get involved and, for the first time, connect to our IRC channel without the need for a dedicated piece of software.

Game of the Month now works fully, and and features our full archive from 2007 all the way up to the present day. Yes, there are some gaps in there, but no longer. New to Game of the Month from April onwards will be a link to the game's soundtrack, if we have it, allowing you to not only read about the game, but request tracks and listen to the music as well.

And finally, our new forums, found under the Community header. Every member will have access to their own blog, enabling them to write about whatever they want, whenever they want. We'll also be having a little bit of a tidy up there as well, but you'll hear about that on the forums when we do it.

It's been a long time coming, but finally it's here. Welcome to the new RadioSEGA.net, and enjoy your stay!
