Western folks still waiting for PSO2.
Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia (SCEJA) announced earlier today during a pre-TGS press conference that a new Phantasy Star title will be released in Japan next year.
Phantasy Star Nova will be a PlayStation Vita exclusive and is being developed by tri-Ace, developers of the SEGA-published Resonance of Fate back in 2010.
This new game will be set in the world of Phantasy Star Online 2, but won't include the online elements that keep being added to PSO2. It can be enjoyed by up to four players via an ad-hoc connection. Watch the announcement trailer below:
Of course, no plans for a Western release have been announced and we keep waiting for Phantasy Star Online 2 to come out of Japan. Phantasy Star Nova is scheduled to be released in Japan in 2014.
