You learnt German poetry in primary school? Now that's what I call an ambitious educational system I always loved Australia, it seems so pretty and I'm digging the accent. Greetings to the red continent!

Won't be online for awhile

by Crow on 04-12-2012 at 14:53
So the internet's credit is running out soon (the joys of pre-paid internet) which means I won't be online for awhile. I'm hoping being offline will give me time to write my story, as I've been neglecting it.

Musings of an aspiring writer

by Crow on 03-12-2012 at 14:55

What does that bring to mind? Elves, dragons, dwarves etc. would spring to the minds of most people. For me, it's so much more than that. It's escapism, it's an entire new world of endless possibilties.

The story I'm writing is definitely a form of escapsim for me. I feel as though I'm in the world when I type. I feel as though I'm watching the story unfold, or sometimes I'm one of the characters.

But despite being set in a fantasy world, I wouldn't

And my stance on gaming still hasn't changed since that post.

I still play on the lower difficulties and I don't bother with trophies.

Romance in space!

by Crow on 03-12-2012 at 01:05
I was on YouTube last night watching the "romance" scenes from the Mass Effect series and I came across a video about male Shepard trying to romance Specialist Traynor in Mass Effect 3. Obviously it doesn't go well because Traynor is a lesbian, but personally I didn't think it was handled very well. That and some of the comments made on the video were really nasty (and perhaps even sexist)

I think instead of her going "you know how I like EDI's voice?" as if she

Gender in gaming

by Crow on 01-12-2012 at 12:30
The reason I choose to play as females in RPGs is because I'm more comfortable with looking at a woman for several hours of game time, compared to playing as a male. I also enjoy making my characters look the way I want them to. Which nearly always means a dark elf with piercings.

In other genres, however, I couldn't care less what gender the character is that I'm using. As long as they have an awesome personality or decent skills, then I will look past their gender.
