I've been digitizing a collection of reel-to-reel tapes that are over 40+ years old which in turn were recorded from vinyl records so basically I've been listening to music from the 60s and 70s a lot lately. Gotta say, surprisingly good sound quality for tapes and a playback device thats over 40 ye...

Random Question. Will Tectoy Sega consoles work in the U.K and can they be bought relatively cheap ( Import tax stings! ) Yes! One cool thing about most of the Tectoy Sega consoles is that they have switching PSUs, meaning they can switch between 120 and 220V, as Brazil does not have any set standa...

Hello all! New to the forums here. I've been listening to the soundtrack of one of my favourite megadrive games which is Gynoug (known as Wings of Wor in the states). I just like how weird it is and I've always been into 2D shooters growing up. Welcome! Haven't played it, will look into that game. ...

I can't stop buying junk. Bought a Samsung Super Aladdin Boy controller from Korea. It works great, luckily. Has those red stiff buttons and a real good pad, awesome condition. Can't wait until 2 weeks from now. Lol Oh yeah, also got some Saturn games (NiGHTS Into Dreams and Sega Rally Championship)...

Bought more crap. Got 2 PS1s, a PS2, and a PSP for $30 all broken, but power on. PS1s need lasers thanks to the crappy plastic sled used on the CD drive and I have not a clue what's up with the PS2 or PSP yet.

So I am doing the recap and realized I hate desoldering braids more than anything else in this whole world. Ended up ripping the eyelet (or "via") out of the PCB. That's sudden death for me, but it goes off to someone else to finish the job. Man, and I thought it was just gonna be a fuse. :(

Bought a Mega CD. Modle 1, Japanese, no power. That's whatever, easy enough. $25 at Grainger gives me a glass fuse, holder, and region switch for Genesis. Installed region switch, a bit of shield modding but works great. Solder up the fuse (sloppy-ish trying not to heat up the diode next to it, but ...
