Just like the title says, which is your favorite Operating System. Please explain which is your favorite "version" or distribution
My favourite is Linux-Ubuntu because it's easy to work with and open source!

7 for me. It just works. Everything I throw at it works, and if it doesn't, I've got a laptop with XP on it as well as Zorin OS. Also, I love how the interface is and it's also pretty snappy so long as you've got at least 4GB of ram. Which sounds like much, but RAM is extremely cheap to get ahold of these days.
Zorin OS is a close 2nd to 7 for me. It's the coolest Linux distro I've ever seen and if you're not worried about doing anything serious like making music or something, it's great as a backup. It's decent for gaming too surprisingly

Windows XP would be my favorite Microsoft OS.
The performance wasn't that bad, it kept the traditional interface with little touches; it didn't exist that ugly aero effect either, so the desktop looked a lot better. Uxtheme? Even better!
It had some compatibilty problems. I didn't notice many, so it wasn't a downside.
Time moves. While I still have my desktop PC with XP, my laptop has W7, is good.

Big fan of Windows 7 myself. The best version of Windows ever made and a generally fantastic, easy to use and powerful operating system.
I'm, however, not looking forward to its successor! I just don't like Windows 8 at all. While I'd imagine that Windows 8 and Windows RT will be awesome on tablets, I don't want it at all on a desktop or laptop PC.

Same here, it doesn't look promising at all to me. I'll wait and see but it changed completely. I don't like the look of it and how it works, it would fit good on tablets, but on desktop/laptop? Not.ResidentSD wrote:I'm, however, not looking forward to its successor! I just don't like Windows 8 at all.
