You have a 360 right? Didnt that come with a ethernet cable?

The router is on the other side of the house from the PS3.

So you're saying that as long as the PS3 has an Ethernet cable connected to something then it won't matter if the device it's connected to is using a wireless connection or not?

I believe so. I haven't tried it yet (waiting for the firmware update to download) but it's what I used on my 360 before I bought a wifi adapter and it treated it like a wired connection.

The only reason the PS3 needs to be wired is because it's using its wifi for connecting to the PSP.
