It takes longer because they dub it in batches, there aren't many american VAs so they probably have to work around that, they also have to translate it.
The Japanese side don't even care about english subtitles, they don't do that themselves. There are also different teams slaving away at an episode each week.

Read through all of Bakuman a few weeks ago and currently reading it weekly. Stuff is kinda alright, though the romance is kinda crap and sometimes just tends to get in the way. Current arc has someone who is basically Manga-Light in being a massive nob head.
Only problem I have with the series is it's clearly following the wrong guys since the Otters 11 dude is far more interesting.
Still reading through JoJo as well, author seems to fucking hate dogs.
Anime & Manga Discussion
Not an anime but the creator Genndt Tartakovsky (Creator of Samurai Jack and Dexters Lab) had alot of inspiration from mech animes and its defiantly worth mentioning.
Sym-Bionic Titan is a great show, really recommend watching it. Its inspired from alot of classic mech animes like Voltron, Gundam and Robotech.
Strong story, strong characters, and visually impressive you guys should check it out. Really hope they continue this series.

Unlike Fullmetal Alchemist, the new series will take place in a high school setting in the Hokkaido prefecture of Japan, according to a report at Manga-News. All that’s known so far is that the series will focus on a young boy who attends the school. Silver Spoon will be featured on the cover of Weekly Shonen Sunday and will have a full-colour opening page.[/quote]
