Yakuza: Dead Souls (Ryu ga Gotoku Of The End)

Post by Kaito-kun »

We knew that the next Yakuza game is going to feature the slightly psychotic Goro Majima as a main, playable character. We knew that the game's theme was going to be "Destruction". We've seen that protional ad in Famitsu of a ruined Kamurocho and we've heard that it's a canonical sequel to Yakuza (Ryu ga Gotoku) 4.

But did you know about this?

Yeah. Really. I'm confused too.

That is just crazy. Then again I thought anything is possible after I played through 2. There's a bit where a giant golden castle comes out of the ground and you have to fight your way through it's traps and ninja's and then you have a boss fight with a pair of Tigers. Yeah im not making it up. It was random.

Awesome; I'll have to make sure to play number 2 at some point. I jumped into the series at number 3 and wathed the re-cap cuscenes before I started. I'm glad I did; I would've been lost otherwise.

But the Golden Castle thing isn't quite as extreme as what this new title is throwing in.

There's a demo up on the Japanese PSN store, shit be confusing though since it randomly decides to swap O and X around and not tell anyone, kept kicking at a door because the prompt said O but the button I had to press was X.

Game be full of zombies and the combat is alright, very Japanese though. Character models are good, hair still looks like it's made of plastic and NPCs still look like they're made a wax.

You play as Akiyama in this demo and the proper Yakuza 4 demo, SEGA know he's the boss and better than Kazuma.
