Alvin and the Chipmunks wasn't even good when it wasn't live action.

It's not thaaat bad. The movies were pretty nice.
I personally never watched any of the old cartoony ones but I think I remember watching them when I was a little kid.
The live action ones are still nice to watch.

I would never see that live-action/animated chipmunk monstrosity...

I did see the cartoon before, and honestly, is not as bad as those movies are, but it's kinda like a 'lesser of two evils' thing...

I hate how old cartoons we used to watch and enjoy (and yes, even those that were watched before I was born) are 'remade' with corny pop-culture references...and that the setting just happen to be New York City...ugh...(The Smurfs for example)

...except the Muppets...I heard that was a good family film.

...Correct me if I'm wrong though.

The muppets is a good movie, its not a remake or a reboot.

I hate that their turning all these cartoon shows from when we were kids into live action piles of $hit. yogi bear, scooby doo, smurfs, chipmunks, etc.

That's true, then again, it's all for the kiddies so if they want to see them, a parent can't say no on the spot, right?

Any parents who actually take em to see these movies are trying to raise a mindless drone.
My brother wanted to see Alvin and i said no, then he saw it on DVD when it came out and he was glad he didn't see it in theaters.

Ah, you can count on the Muppets for your childhood memories...

And yes, you are speaking my language. Live action remakes of cartoons are total crap...

I watched Bunraku yesterday. I really don't know what to make of it. It's set in the future where after a big war mankind outlaws all firearms so everyone minces around with swords. The art direction of the film is pretty original ( though i've not decided whether I mean that in a nice way either). It sounds coller than it was.
