Yea I've been interested in it since it was announced, then kinda lost interest in it with all the trouble of a Europe release. I have the trial downloaded but still haven't bothered to play it.

I'd be surprised if anyone who made the good sim cities still even worked at Maxis.

Oh Atlus (Japan) announced Persona 2: Eternal Punishment is coming to PSP.

Few of the main people behind most of their major franchises are still there, unfortunately after Will Wright left they kinda became quiet. Will Wright was pretty much the voice of maxis. The last game they made was Darkspore (a spinoff of Spore) which wasn't good. Wouldn't mind a true sequel to spore though.

I wouldn't get too excited for an announcement of a sequel to a PC franchise. Generally only leads to disappointment.

Can't help it, its been 9 years. Nine long years for me. Simcity, and The Sims is what got me into gaming.
