Well then. I was never much of an anime person. Strangely though I think I'm getting more and more into it. I mean, I'm already watching Naruto and now I've really gotten into Gurran Legann. I mean, it's really good. I originally started watching it because of the chick but it became a lot more than that. It developed a better story than I thought. I'm up to episode 10 and i'm already loving it.

Now I seem to have gotten into anime and I'm already planning of what I'll be watching after Gurren lagann. I was thinking of School Days because you guys talked about it and I'm the sort of person who really enjoys a good romantic anime and I heard that it was very romantic but then after I checked a few people's comments about it and watched the ending scenes, I felt sick. The end wasn't what I wanted at all.

So yeah... I'm planning to watch Fairy Tail and One Piece after Gurren Lagann but none of the two have the romance I want. So... got any suggestions?

Watching the ending of School Days before hand ruins the fun for people recommending School Days (who the fuck watches the ending to something before watching the series)?

This list still hasn't changed:

Berserk
Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex
Fullmetal Alchemist
Gurren Lagann
Mushi-Shi
Code Geass
Samurai Champloo
Actually I should probably add things to it... but I'm lazy. I'm not sure I can recommend Fairy Tail, it's pretty standard, safe, shounen that does nothing exceptional and is incredibly by the book. Plus the anime is low budget and has terrible magic effects. Great soundtrack though.

@BSF Clannad? Clannad After Story?

But for the sake of your ears please watch the Jap dub, the English dub is just horrendous (especially After Story)

As for School Days, i had the ending ruined for me by a mate, he told me about how fucked up this show he'd been watching was, i ended up watching it 6 months later & boom! Watching the final scenes it just hit me as to what happens

I don't do that to every anime. When I looked at people's opinions and found out how bad the anime was, I had made my mind up to not watch it. So looking at the end wouldn't hurt.

I'll give Fairy Tail a try. The list you gave... I was wondering if any of them suit the type of anime I like. I mean, I don't want a sorta bloody anime and dead serious like Death Note. I want something action, sorta funny and definitely a bit romantic. If any of them have this feature than I'll definitely have a look.

Oh if you want romance then you're in the wrong medium.

edit: Sounds like you basically want shounen stuff. I recommend watching Hunter x Hunter, preferably the old series but the new series is watchable as well.

editedit: Considering you've barely watched any anime at all you should probably watch as much as possible instead of dismissing it as not "the type of anime you like"

This. If you restrict yourself to only a single genre or two then you're going to miss out on a lot.

I agree with this.
In anime it's surprising how much can interest you if you give it a try.

The same, of course, goes for manga. I'm typically and action and/or comedy kind of guy, yet I've fallen in love with Wandering Son; a slice of life drama series about two transgendered 10 year olds. (ROLL ON VOLUME 3 in JUNE!)

Get out there and give new stuff a try, BSF. You'll be surprised by what you'll end up liking.
