I wish I were good at cooking.
Every time I want to try a more complex preparation, I feel intimidated by the whole process, and do nothing. I know I will fail miserably the first time, but I have to try at least once. =P
I joined pastry classes the past year, but I left 2 weeks later because it clashed with my japanese studies.

Well the bright side is, it can be a hobby. Not like someone's taste buds are on the line, cept your own.
And everyone sucks at any hobby when they try the first time. Break it down with simpler stuff for a while and then gradually build up. I'm no chef, I just like coming up with unique recipes.

I can attest to that somewhat; my next door neighbor has given me a notebook with all here recipes for me to take to college. I have to say, I can't wait to make some of these dishes.Wrath Oskvro wrote:Well the bright side is, it can be a hobby. Also, a former member here (name was Lizzy, some of you may remember here) has given me a special curry recipe. And you know me; I LOVE my curry.

You only live once
I really hate it when people say "Oh I'd love to do this or that..but" Give me a break. There's nothing stopping you from doing anything other than yourself.

I made my own version of the royale with cheese yesterday. Had one at a burger king and tried to recreate it using tesco crispy chicken and a subway roll. Think my version was better tho as I used a sharp cheddar instead of the dirty plastic cheese they use. Had it with a serving of those mcCain french fries (the nicest oven chips you can buy). No visual evidence as I'm not qite sad enough to take photos of my dinner, but you'l have to take my word for it as it was a peng munch.
Yeah I think that's true. Someone said to me recently they were really jealous of people who can draw. Well obviously not because they never actually bothered to learn! They just though they didn't have much 'natural talent' and gave up before they'd began. Such a bollocks argument, nearly everything is down to effort and not some vague sense of ability. I remember I was no good at football when I was 8, so I practised kicking a tennis ball against my garden wall every day: day after day, week after week, month after month until eventually I was a decent player. This attitude of total application has worked for everything I've tried in life, you can basically do anything if you bury yourself. If you are just going to sit around scratching your arse and watching scrubs all day of course you will be a crap human being.Wrath Oskvro wrote:You only live once

Tic Tac, sir?
Agreed. I didn't learn crap about drawing and was jealous of how others were able to so. Did I just believed that way? Hell no; I taught myself and was inspired by those people.Killer French Bread wrote:
