Eh; if Disney's going that route then who's stopping them?Kaito-kun wrote:I thought you meant the film itself.
Those posters do nothing more than add to my thoughts that the film be pants but Disney will try to hide that with "HEY GUYZ!!! IT'S THOSE VIDEO GAME PEOPLE YOU LIKE!!!"
Remember, this isn't Pixar, this is the Disney CGI B-team.

It's not a matter of who's stopping them, but rather an issue of who's supporting them and letting them get away with it.TheChaosBlue wrote:Eh; if Disney's going that route then who's stopping them?
In my view - from the trailers and promotional material I've seen - the plot of Wreck-It Ralph would make a half decent webcomic, but not really worth the time effort or money of a CGI blockbuster. Nor does the plot seem like the quality of a theatre release.
But hey, I'm just a cynic on the webernets. I could be wrong. Go and see it, I genuinely hope you enjoy it, but I'm just sceptical about the whole thing and see it as an attempt by Disney to try and cash in on desperate gamers who are thinking "FINALLY! SOMETHING WE RECOGNISE AND IDENTIFY WITH IS IN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA!!" Y'know?
No no I understand; always interesting to hear from the other side of the fence if you know what I mean. However, there's one major thing I believe that is wrong with what you said...Kaito-kun wrote:It's not a matter of who's stopping them, but rather an issue of who's supporting them and letting them get away with it.

...I won't have the money nor the time to actually see the damn movie.

Last time I went to the theaters adult tickets were...I believe....in the $15-$18.00 range. Going to a moive theater nearly every week in NYC is sure to drain those wallets.Kaito-kun wrote:Hmm, yes a trip to the cinema is ridiculously expensive these days. Even if you don't have any snacks or drinks and go to see a 2D film on a weekday morning then you won't get much change from a tenner.

If I was going to watch something on a plane I may as well not watch it at all. You may as well just watch it on VCR with an old black and white TV.Quills on Wheels wrote:I'd preferably watch the latest movies on one of those Emerates or Qatar airplanes. Seriously, they're awesome. I watched the Avengers on a Qatar plane before it was out on CD shops and I didn't really mind the small screen. The frequent service was enough to make up for it.
Good movie btw.
So you're just going to ignore Princess and the Frog and Winnie the Pooh and the upcoming 2D Mickey Mouse movie? Plus going to ignore the fact that Tangled looked and felt nothing like a pixar film but more like an actual Disney film in CGI?Reknoc wrote:I remember when Disney made films like The Lion King and Aladdin.
Nowadays it's all ruining Pixar and making video game reference shit.
Plus the person who is ruining pixar and who approved the idea of the video game reference shit is actually the head of pixar (John Lasseter)who is now in charge of both animation studios? :I

I never did get a chance to see Serenity during its theater run. But seeing it on dvd gives me chills. I just hope that more films, even based on a tv series can keep going no matter what the odds.
On CG movies, I have never been a big fan of the majority of titles. But a few do catch my attention. Wreck It Ralph has been a title kept quiet for so long. Its great to see it finally hitting theaters soon. And its not because of the CG design, but the concept that couldn't be done in any other way.
