I attended Sumo Digital's presentation and Q&A of S&ASRT at the Play Expo in Manchester yesterday.
Really looking forward to this now, and Steve Lycett really is such a friendly and approachable person!
Some tidbits that were confirmed (some of which may not be new):
- There will be (as yet unspecified) platform-specific characters besides the Miis and Xbox Avatars.
- Big the Cat has been dropped from the roster. (Someone did ask!)
- The "SEGA call" and crowd cheering recorded at Summer of Sonic is definitely in the game.
- According to Steve, the final unlock will really delight serious Sega fans, but he wouldn't say what that was.
It appears that in the campaign/mission mode (which can be completed single player or co-op), 1, 2 or 3 stars can be earned depending on the difficulty level selected and cleared. (This differs from the first game where up to 10 stars were awarded depending on how well you did.)

Ha, you were in the seat right in front of me! Now I really wish I'd asked in advance who else on the forums here was going to this!RW26 BLAZE wrote:I was there myself.........I did the video recording on most the recording.

I did figure you must be a quite a Sega follower for knowing of Bentley Jones. I'm not surprised he won't be featuring in ASRT though, due to the fallout he had with Sega a while back over the use of one of his tracks on a soundtrack CD.
I was wearing a Dreamcast VMU t-shirt (which Steve complimented me on!), and I asked the question about the Summer of Sonic chants, which also acted as a way of name-dropping the event to the audience.

Quoted from main site article:
The information in my post earlier thread was not from a "mini-interview" as such. I only asked about the Summer of Sonic recording during the panel. The other bullet points were responses to panel questions posed by other audience members.
The info about the stars in the missions was apparent from the demo, from the on-screen display before and after each mission.
I did get a brief private chat with Steve though, but we didn't really talk about new S&ASR details. We reminisced about Summer of Sonic, and joked about the fact he must have been relieved no-one brought up Danica Patrick during the Q&A!
For the sake of clarity:mtwinny wrote:In addition,Lycetttold him about the new revamped campaign/mission mode, speaking on how the Star system from the original game has been reworked and this time based on difficulty
