Whenever I hear "Western" I too think America, if they mean the EU they'll mention it separately.

I've been to Frankfurt. Well, the airport there. It was pretty nice. Met a Finnish bloke who taught me how to eat pizza. He then rambled on about Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed.
