Have you seen Stand Alone Complex?

Nah. All I've seen is about half of the first film. Stand Alone Complex is one of those things I keep meaning to give a go, but have never got around to.

I'd say give it a shot. The film can be rather off putting due to its Oshi'ness.

I've got Stand Alone Complex, and have never watched it XD Need to get around to it at some point, have seen both movies and GitS 2.0, which was a little weird.

Got it for free though, so not grumbling.

Where you should start is the films, just to get a bit more ground on the films. Now they are independent stories, and have nothing to do with the OVA. But SAC Season 1 & 2 connect with one another. Solid State Society is the last of the trilogy to the OVA stories. Arise, the new series is out later this year. (*No word on official release, but Funimation has the rights now)

Manga of the Week

Eyeshield 21
Image

Author: Inagaki Riichiro
Artist: Murata Yuusuke
Status: Complete, 37 Volumes
Updates: Was Weekly
Licensed: Yes

Wimpy Sena Kobayakawa has been running away from bullies all his life. But when the football gear comes on, things change--Sena's speed and uncanny ability to elude big bullies just might give him what it takes to become a great high school football hero! Enjoy all the bone-crushing action and slapstick comedy that this heartwarming coming-of-age story has to offer.
It'd be easy to ignore Eyeshield 21 due to its theme, but to do so would mean missing out on a great manga. Even if American Football doesn't appeal to you it is well worth checking the series out. Why? Because it puts focus on the characters, not the sport, and has some great character development throughout. It's also drawn by one of the more talented artists working today.

It does have it's bad points, largely it gets a little on the racist side during one match and the series goes on a little longer than it needs to and devolves into being about the sport itself during the endgame of the series.

Still it's something I highly recommend.

Yea, probably. I tell a lot of people to read. And now I'm doing it again, with more series, under the guise of a weekly feature!

I have seen the films already. Also - I didn't know Solid State Society was seperate...I just presumed it was a movie of sorts, edited together from episodes of SAC XD
