Sounds like they are in the JRPG camp of games.Reknoc wrote:It's also worth mentioning some amazing upcoming games are due out in the next couple of months like:
Etrian Odsyssey 4
Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers
Harvest Moon
Some Inazuma Eleven game
maybe Shin Megami Tensei 4?

For someone who haven't really gotten into any of those series how 'amazing' are they? Like, some people have different preferences to genre of video game, so while I heard how 'greatawesomecoolio' these and the ones you posted may very well be, for someone who haven't played what a majority of these genre of games are how can one enjoy them? I'm in that boat; it's like I hear these games are good but I haven't got into these series and the genre of the game to warrant if I'm going to enjoy it.Reknoc wrote:It's also worth mentioning some amazing upcoming games are due out in the next couple of months like:

If you're not into JRPGs then I'd imagine none of them would really appeal to you, except Harvest Moon. SMT4, Etrian Odyssey and Devil Summoner are all pretty hardcore in their design. However I consider the SMT series to be some of the best JRPGs, especially SMT3 and it sounds like SMT4 is just as good.TheChaosBlue wrote:For someone who haven't really gotten into any of those series how 'amazing' are they? Inazuma is pretty casual and reasonably fun. Especially if you're up for some hot blooded shounen football complete with ridiculous over the top special moves.
Harvest Moon is Harvest Moon, no one knows if they'll like it, though kneejerk reactions to the concept makes them think they wont but they probably will. Series has been shit since Friends of Mineral Town but apparently A New Beginning is a return to form. Also at some point Hometown Story is due out which is made by the original creator of Harvest Moon, only involving a shop instead of a farm.
Yeah, I sense I'm not a fan of JRPG's to feel long-term enjoyment, although I've played the FM: Awakening and Project X Zone demos and did enjoy them somewhat. Thanks for the advice.Reknoc wrote:If you're not into JRPGs then I'd imagine none of them would really appeal to you, except Harvest Moon. neither of those are really JRPGs though, they're Strategy RPGs. Something more comparable would be Pokemon, Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest.TheChaosBlue wrote:Yeah, I sense I'm not a fan of JRPG's to feel long-term enjoyment, although I've played the FM: Awakening and Project X Zone demos and did enjoy them somewhat.
