If you only count the Shadow/Sonic levels, I'd say that Sonic Adventure 2 is better, but it comes with allot of boring crap that needs to be played through at least once.Thankfully, once finished you never again have to go near those levels.

The first Adventure game is allot more enjoyable overall, a not quite as stupid story, and has a more memorable soundtrack (with a few borrowed tracks from Sonic 3D Blast). It's also usually quite a bit cheaper online too.

Did you not read my review? ;)

Okay, slight exaggeration, it doesn't have much from SA2, just updated visuals and graphics taken from the second, the black market and the ability to view stats, like in SA2. Doesn't have the gardens, kindergarten or Chao Karate from Battle.

You might as well have matched Gavvie against the incredible hulk.

Sonic Adventure 2 is the better game in absolutely every area. Better soundtrack, improved graphics, stages that don't drop you through the floor, awesome boss battles, improved chao garden, no overworld, decent mini-games, I could go on...

^You can probably find it online if you have a credit card, gift card, or can use your parents'. Or you can wait for it to be on PlayStation Network or XBOX Live arcade if it's ever released for that, and it probably will if Sonic Adventure does well.

I also have to say Sonic Adventure 2 because it's better in every area. The only things I didn't like about it was Rouge's stages (minus her first one - that one was awesome) and the optional kart racing games. The longevity of the game is so ridiculous you could spend the rest of your life on that game! Not continuous, of course. It's my personal favorite Sonic game. Still.
Beware of your mind as it proves you wrong...

Sonic adventure 2 for me because of the Sonic&shadow levels, improved chao garden. music, and having more memorable moments than the first, I just hate that it forces you to play the tails/robotnik and knuckles/rouge levels. Especially hate the knuckles levels

Sonic Adventure 2 is better by far, as much as i like sonic adventure the animation freaks out in parts...a lot of parts tbh like when the characters talk. it's more noticeable in sonic then any other character. Also SA2B has a better Chao system (I am obsessed with Chao). As this game was released for Gamecube i doubt it will be on X-box 360 or PS3, as good as it would be mind you...

If you count the Chao Garden, SA2.
If you count the graphics, SA2.
If you count gameplay, SA1. (Thanks to the Tails/Eggman and Knux/Rouge levels)

Overall, Sonic Adventure wins by that little. Because it had so much to be improved on, except they only improved graphics and the Chao Garden in the sequel.

Shadid it was SA2 battle that had eggman/tails and knuckles/rouge levels...and the Chao system was a hell of a lot easier if you didn't want animal parts

That's what he's saying; the Tails/Eggman and Knuckles/Rouge stages were awful and took up most of SA2.
