It's already been localised though, except for the few bits of text that are server side instead of client side.

I suppose it has, but apparently on Vita while Japan has the PC version so far, there's no PC release yet for NA or EU, that's what I'd prefer it for.

No version has been officially released in the west yet, the only one we will be getting (very likely) is the PC version. But the Japanese PC version has already had a translation patch.

Makes me think, is SEGA even that high up on PSO outside of Japan?

Doesn't seem that way. From everything I've read SEGA handled PSU really poorly outside of Japan with shitty servers and slow updates. The portable games took forever to get released as well, and they skipped PS: P2i entirely.

Heh, PSO2 is getting the Yakuza 5 treatment, except the latter's doing well in Japan, I would think.

Both are doing well, PSO2 hit 2.5m registered accounts recently, with about 350k of them being for the Vita version.

Well Yakuza 5 did well (560k) then I guess people stopped buying it, or enough people to make any significant change in the numbers.

It'll be released in early 2014, only to be pushed back late 2014, calling it now.
