I watched and enjoyed Pokemon until about the second or third gym, but then I realized that the reason why every single episode was exactly the same wasn't because the adventure had only just begun, but rather because that's what they're going for. Could also be because Digimon started airing around then and showed how a story-driven monster-anime was done.
Though Pokemon do have a whole bunch of catchy opening themes, both japanese and dubbed.

I actually liked digimon but the anime is going down hill in my opinion. It's just getting stupid. The Adventure series were good and also the Adventure 2 Series. Tamers was the best in my opinion but it all began getting crappy after tamers. The new ones just don't feel the same.
I watched Digimon up until the 3rd series I think. Never seen it since. I don't think it was boring, I think it just stopped appearing on any of the channels I regularly watched. And then I didn't care.
One was a stupid spin off in which the person them selves could turn into digimon. It was stupid in my opinion.
Tamers was the only series I actually wanted to watch all episodes on YouTube. I tried with the first digimon but it was just boring and I stopped watching them after somewhere around 40.
Digimon was awesome. Seasons 1 - 3 were pretty awesome esspically adventure 2. Though I have to agree humans changing into digimon put me off the series. Though the new Digimon anime sounds quite interesting. Something about a war?
They only aired the first two seasons of Digimon in Sweden, so I missed out on Tamers. Bummer since it seems to be the best of the bunch from what I heard.

Heheh ok. So you stopped when you were just about 10 episodes away from the grand finale? The later half is the only part I still enjoy to some extent from the first Series.
Season 2 was better, although many episodes felt very filler-esque with the way they always returned home after beating the monster of the week. I always preferred the "On the road" kind of adventure.
I had a moment of mental clarity today (You know, the sort which you only obtain when you're supposed to be focusing on something else that's really important?) and realised just how far behind the English releases of One Piece I am. I'm only up to volume 38! >_<
It's gooing to cost me a fortune to catch up with the current volume and that's without thinking about the other series I'd like to keep up with: Black Butler, Bakuman, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and Fullmetal Alchemist...Then there's the deluge of anime DVDs that are out over the next couple of months.

I remember I was at the point where they were looking for the 1 remaining digimon master or whatever they are called who was the leader's sister Cary or something. Oh I hardly remember the names.
