Just two weeks? Wow. I have mid-May, all of June, all July and the first half of August for my college break.Quills on Wheels wrote:Hmmm I thought Europe was similar to Australia. Hense why I asked.
Eitherway, basically like I said, we have four terms and after each term we get a short break. The length of the breaks depend on the term. For example the last term's break is around 2 months while right now, with term 2's finish, I'll only be getting around 2 weeks of holidays.

6 weeks holiday isn't too bad though, kids should learn early that summer is a terrible season. When you're young it's all no school and swimming in the lake or hosepipe fights or whatever shit. Then you're an adult and summer is sitting in an office that is moonlighting as an oven and you drowsily sit at your desk wishing you were dead because hell probably isn't as hot. And after this there's an hour I'll be spending on the bus.
Roughly yes.Matty wrote:In UK Schools Half term = 1 week, end of term = 2 weeks.
US Schools, you get what? 2 - 3 months off over summer?
..Have you just described you own interpretation of how your summer goes, and not just your own generalization of it as an adult?Reknoc wrote:6 weeks holiday isn't too bad though, kids should learn early that summer is a terrible season. Roughly yes. Well, depending on the level of school and where you go to the school term ends either in mid-May to late-August/late-June to early September.Matty wrote:In UK Schools Half term = 1 week, end of term = 2 weeks.

That's pretty much how my summer is these days too, and the same with a lot of people I know.TheChaosBlue wrote:..Have you just described you own interpretation of how your summer goes, and not just your own generalization of it as an adult?

Well the last term's holidays IS around 2 months long...TheChaosBlue wrote:Just two weeks? Wow. I have mid-May, all of June, all July and the first half of August for my college break.
I actually prefer this cause we get a total of 4 holidays. One for after each term while in america(and Iran, the country I come from), the summer brakes are this huge 3-4 month holidays that while feel really good, reaaally piss you off when school starts again.
Pisses me off too...when I was in grade school. Atthe college I attend it's split into two semesters; the first is roughly 3-to-3 and a half months and then a month break. Then it's the second semester that lasts about the same length of time. Then, as I explained is the 'summer break'.Quills on Wheels wrote:Well the last term's holidays IS around 2 months long...
