Well, the ones who are able to get to Oxford Street, London, between 9 and 10am on a weekday morning are lucky, the other 99.7% of the UK population who have jobs, school, college and/or don't live within a 40 mile radius of the capital are just as unlucky.mtwinny wrote:Well, ain't this something...

Do pokemon fans really care that much about whoever created their games? I've never heard of these people and I'd be surprised if anyone have except maybe one or two percent of the fans. It's not like it's Miyamoto himself or even Koji Kondo...mtwinny wrote:Well, ain't this something...

Then again, a signed copy is always a signed copy. Might boost the price on online auctions later.
The majority of my IRL friends would more or less classify as pokemon fans. But once when I asked who the people behind the series were, all they could say was "Nintendo" (Ok, one could name the musician, but he has an almost unhealthy passion for gameboy music). Despite this, they all are usually pretty knowledgeable about the people behind the games they like (especially musicians and designers).
This has led me to assume the Pokemon fans care allot about the content of the games, but not so much for the people behind them.
I'm not saying Koji Kondo should actually be there since I DO know he has nothing to do with the series. He's just an example of big-shot Nintendo name who'd attract fans. My point is that I don't think these fellas have the star-status needed to motivate allot of buyers to wait in a long line to get their games signed.

Looks like we're celebrating the games over here too:

I'm hoping I can actually make it down to Rockefeller Center by the time Nintendo World opens it's doors for the event.
I already told a couple of people about it and they're insisting on going.
Oh, and about that tour, here's an first-hand account of it all:

Even though I'm not really a hardcore Pokemon fan (I consider myself being neutral on it) did Nintendo do any sort of celebration like this with the other versions?
