Quite a while back. I like to get quite behind and just buy them in bulk.
I tend to buy more manga than anime since a) it's cheaper b) we get exactly what the US get so I don't end up getting too dicked over my licensors (though I'm still waiting for Vinland Saga and Magi to get a release).
Ideally I should just learn French since those guys get everything.

This months Ultra Jump came with a special booklet for JoJo's 25th anni. Inside are contributions from other manga artists such as Oda (One Piece), Kishimoto (Naruto), Kubo (Bleach), Murata (Eyeshield 21), CLAMP (a shit ton of stuff), Toriyama (Dragon Ball/Quest) and a bunch of others.
You can see them all here:

Though my favourites are Oda's, Kishi's and CLAMPS.

Watched part 1 of The Greatest Robot in the World arc of the 80s Astro Boy cartoon. It was pretty good, well made for the time (better than modern stuff) but I'm not really sure if I'll bother to watch the second part. I only really bothered in the first place because I wanted to see how different Pluto was to it. Turns out it's way different.
Decided to start reading History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi. I was talking to a mate about some manga magazines and something that popped up was magazines holding on to series for a long ass time. Looking through Weekly Shounen Sunday (Magi and Silver Spoon run in this) a lot of their series are relatively recent, the oldest series running in it is Detective Conan (Case Closed) which began in 1994, after that is Kenichi which started in 2002, and then Hayate the Combat Butler in 2004.
Compared to Shounen Jump which has Kochikame (1976), One Piece (1997), Naruto (1999), Hunter x Hunter (1998) plus series that started early 2000 like Bleach (2001), Gintama (2003), and Reborn (2004).
Anyway I started reading Kenichi because I was interested in seeing how good the second oldest series is (fuck Detective Conan). Might start Hayate at some point since its supposed to be good.
Oh yea, I also started a MAL for my manga http://myanimelist.net/mangalist/Reknoc not all that accurate since I haven't put in all the chapters I've read for some series.
