I'm glad they're doing the blackout. It's called standing up for what's right. There won't be a Wikipedia if SOPA or PIPA passes.

But it's awfully easy to bypass the Wiki block....
I think that's what'll happen in a world with SOPA: Normal users will be denied access while the more tech savvy people will find away around it. You can even see it that way with the wiki, somewhat.

Really now? Honestly, I'm only interested with this Wikipedia block bypass today as it felt interesting seeing which language was still operational. It seems the Spanish site was still up when I was at school.

There was a segment about SOPA on Andrew Napolitono's FOX Business show Freedom Watch. Kind of funny that the owner of FOX (News Corp) is for this, but that doesn't seem to be the opinion here...

Also, I'm not a big fan of his, but Glenn Beck also had a rant about this legislation, as it's really a take worth listening to. It shows how it's basically less about protecting piracy and more about expanding government. This time, expanding it beyond its borders.
And then Obama will be asking for more money because he doesn't have enough for all these programs. Somebody, stop this nonsense!
Here's the Beck clip; be aware it's from the online video simulcast of the radio show: http://www.glennbeck.com/2012/01/18/sto ... ve-it-out/
UPDATE: Beck went into more detail on his online video show. Although the live show is only available through paid subscription (I'm not a subscriber), the clip is free. I do apologize as this clip ends abruptly, but with a partial list of companies that are in favor or the legislation. http://web.gbtv.com/media/video.jsp?con ... d=24584158

Not PIPA though. PIPA is this month and it's pretty much the same thing as SOPA with a different name. The good news however is that we officially have 35 senators publicly opposing PIPA.
