Are you referring to the art style? What else has he worked on?

Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei and the Monogatari series are my only other experiences with him. It's not his art style so much as his direction. Scenes will randomly flash to unimportant filler scenes for like a second, Bakemonogatari does this a lot where characters will be talking and it'll randomly flash to a red background with Scene: red on it and nothing else for no real reason.

I can't be bothered to trawl through youtube AMVs to find good examples but here are some:

Looking through some scenes SZS does look to get more bearable.

Ah, I see what you mean. The Bakemonogatari scene got a bit weird towards the end, but it works for Zetsubou-sensei as the manga does similar nonsense with the way it's panels are laid out. (Although I don't get the bald guy censor)

I dunno, I assumed it was Shinbo, but searching around says it's one of the manga authors assistants, and he also shows up in some of the manga.

Skimming a random chapter of SZS and I dunno, it's definitely not as irritating as trying to watch an episode was.

I managed to collect some anime over the christmas holiday. This is the anime I managed to obtain:
Highschool of the Dead
Clannad
Baccano!
Hellsing Ultimate I-IV
Devil May Cry
Deadman Wonderland (early december, so not technically a christmas addition, but not far off)

I've only watched Deadman Wonderland, half of Devil May Cry. Hellsing I and the first three episodes of Baccano!

Deadman Wonderland: Fantastic but messed up anime I hae been waiting ages to come out on DVD. It was definetly worth the wait even though I had to buy a multi-regional DVD player just to play it on my TV, but definetly worth it. Not for the faint hearted, but it's not the most disturbing. It's the borderline of really interesting to tasteless violence to me.

Hellsing I: Fantastic once again, far better than the way the anime potrays it, it's just a shame that it's very short, but good things come in small packages most of the time.

Baccano!: Something I have been meaning to pick up for a long time, but never got round to. A real surprise christmas present. The first three episodes are really interesting and it's starting to reveal things slowly. I think that once it gets up to it's climax, it's going to be fantastic, butt I'm even enjoying it so far.

Devil May Cry (half of the series) Pretty good, everybody seems to suggest it to me though I'm not massively farmiliar with the Devil May Cry world. But from what I watched, it's good, just good... It leads nowhere and seems to be of the daily life of Dante, which is fine and dandy, but the battles aren't as interesting as they should be, rather bland actually. After this, I picked up Devil May Cry 3 and I'm having more fun playing that and it makes you feel like a bad ass. For the anime, any actual action is missing from it. I though from the first episode that it was good, but it might get better as it goes on, and even though the stories become more interesting, the action seems to deteriorate more and more as it goes on.

I'm excited to watch the rest of Hellsing, Baccano! and to see Clannad, which many people consider to be a great anime, but one I've never tried to dwell into before. I need to get round to Hetalia soon, but it's just so weird how expensive it is for such a short series, but I will have to get round to it very soon. Beelzebub is also my faviourte anime, but all the copies are from Malaysia and it will cost a lot to get the whole series, but I'll have to part with my money as soon as i have the money to get it.

Did anyone else get some anime for christmas?

I tried the Beelzebub anime but found it pretty awful so I decided to stick with the manga instead.

Finished up Bakemonogatari, and enjoyed it more than I thought I would though it suffers from dumb direction and being too wordy. Started Nisemonogatari but only watched the one episode so far. The obnoxious directing seems toned down but Araragi's sexpestness has gone way up.

Also just 'cause, some pickups:

I find it ironic you put your thumb over Mami's head.

Also, I never saw the Gintama movie. Any good?

I've not got around to watching it yet. I know more or less what to expect though as it's a typical Sunrise movie. The series is fantastic but the arc the movie is based on isn't
