I've known quite a few people get good jobs because of it though. And have spoken to people who run buisneses that say they'd rather people blag it than not give an answer to a question in a form or interview. Spoke to one guy who ran a pub who had interviewed a bunch of people for bar staff earlier that day - one girl's mind went blank to some question about 'give an example of when you did some thing' or whatever. She couldn't think of an example. He said he would have given her the job if she'd just lied because the rest of the interview was perfect - but he said if you aren't smart enough to lie your way through an interview you aren't even smart enough to work behind a bar.Matty wrote:Had a massive argument with my "employment training advisor" (I use the term very, VERY loosely)
Long story short, she wanted me to lie on my CV about my work history (I refused as I've known lots of people to be caught out on it)
Also one f my mates always lies about having a degree on his CV, as well as knowing loads of IT stuff. If a job ever states something is an essential skill he just says he has it or the qualification and then goes running to one of his mates to find out what he needs to know. He has a pretty decent job now - his company bought him a brand new mondeao a few months back. It's just taking initiative really.

I feel this is relevant:Dr Shaneman wrote:Today in work we told there will be big cut-backs. Only three of us will be kept out of the seven.
Though the ones that stay will be offered more hours. Which is good, however it means I'm going to have to fight for one of those positions.
The ones that are left will be offered various other jobs in near-by locations but the hours will either be less or only a slight fraction more in comparison.
So it appears I'm going to have to push in order to stay where I am and for those extra hours. The only comfort I have is that only four of us are after the main three placements.
Been feeling quite down since I heard this news. I can't afford to miss out on this.

For the last 10 days I've been house sitting for my parents, and I'm finally back home. Best part of that is I've returned to new, spangly 60mb fiber optic internets Makes a change to the 10mb I'd been suffering for the last two years!
Though the 60mb doesn't compare to the 100mb connection my parents have

Over here in the East Coast, a rush of cold will hit over the weekend, like a real wakeup call of the Fall season...kadosho wrote:Catching up on stuff, and trying to keep cool.
