Does anyone else feel like there are two sides of the Sonic Community?

Definately. There's the ones that will defend Sonic to the death regardless of the arse the release and there's the other side of the coin who prowl on Sega sites who are obviously Sega fans but can't put there fingers to a keyboard without ripping on Sonic. It's like an OCD compulsion.

I just found a video of Sonic 4 getting annouced as playble at a gaming event. And the crowd just erupts into a huge cheer:

No, those are people are obviously drug abusing nutters. I don't think it's healthy to be that hyped over anything.

Seriously though, at the end of the day it's just a video game. Have people really got obsessive enough to start classifying themselves as true fans? If Sonic 4 turns it good, I'll buy it and enjoy it, if it's crap, I'll laugh and say I told you so.

And I wouldnt care 'If you told me so' because ill have my own opinion on the game. If I dont like it, I dont like it. If I like it, I like it. This has always been the case with other sonic games to.

Well Sonic 4 actually looks pretty good, the only thing making me worry about it is the episodic nature. I'm sure someone said earlier, it's not fun having to buy the game multiple times XP I'd rather drop 15 quid on it total rather than small chapters
