Gamespot Best games of 2010

Post by Quills on Wheels »

I know it's been out for a wile now but since I saw nobody making a thread, I thought why not do it myself.
Just click here and your ready to vote.
Personally it's good to see that Sonic did make it into the special achievements.

Gave my vote to Mass Effect 2. The other games on that list didn't really interest me that much other than Super Meat Boy but I wouldn't call it Game Of The Year or anything as cool as it is.

Since neither Nier or Deadly Premonition was nominated for GotY I had to go for Red Dead Redemption.

It's not especially clear as to how to vote.

Also, why on earth is Lost Planet 2 nominated for "Worst game everybody played"? It was a great game in my opinion! All these nominations have done for me is make me realise how out of touch I am with the mainstream.

Edit: Never mind, I wasn't scrolling far enough down...

People who use gamespot are idiots though, so it's no surprise.

Not that I think Lost Planet 2 was good, but it certainly wasn't awful.

Lost planet 2 was a weird one for me. If I strip it down all the mechanics are there for a good game but it just didn't grip me for some reason.
I'd probably vote for RDR. Mass effect 2 would be a VERY close second.

Sadly I haven't done enough probing to get the materials it would cost to give a shit about Mass Effect 2.

On a semi-related now, Eurogamer are also doing a game of the year thing.. But then I imagine most major gaming websites are.

We could start a 'Sega game of the year' discussion here or in the Sega forum. Anyone? :P

^Good idea!

It was nice to see that Sonic and SEGA all stars racing was nominated for one of the best racing games and also for surprisingly good games. I was actually shocked to see that Sonic Colors was in the surprisingly good category. I mean we all knew that from the screenshots and all that it was going to become a good game. We didn't thought it would be great but we thought it would be a good game. It wasn't much of a surprise.

I was talking to Gavvie about that earlier for an official one.

Though Infinite Space is the clear winner.
