Killer French Bread wrote: I reckon it's jealousy. I mean come on, we are pretty much the greatest country in the history of pop music - unquestionably in Europe. Dire Straights, Depeche Mode, Judas Priest, just some of the legends from these shores. What the hell has Europe given us? Whigfield, the Venga Boys and that Maya-hee band. It's just a fact that even the crumbs from our table should be good enough for you people. We should genuinely be able to send Timmy Mallet to that show and expect a winners medal. So of course we will be annoyed with last place.
The thing is we never send any musical greats over, we always send absolute rubbish.
The UK taste in music is also radically different from that of Europe, none of the big european acts have really bothered trying to break the UK - so few in fact that the only one I can think of is that Tokio Hotel lot - because the country as a whole is - sadly - incredibly Europhobic. What I think is worse is that while the majority of the country is terrified of becoming too much a part of Europe we seem to be more than happy to be barstardised into becomming America Lite.
Also, we did give the world Rick Astley so maybe it's karma punishing us?
And Chico. And... *Shudder* N-Dubz.
For every great artist there are several crap ones to even it out.

I try not to think to deeply about music or artists these days. The more I think about a particular music stylr or artist the more I see fakeness in what they do whether they be a rapper or death metal or whatever your into. If I like a song I like a song and leave it at that now. Regardless of the style or who made it.
