Missing SEGA AGES & SNS Podcast Episodes

Post by SoloNerfherder »

Hi,

Solonerfherder here, catching up on my SEGA AGES & SNS podcasts. I started from the 1st ep of each, and I'm gradually clawing my way to the latest eps... But looking at the eps I have in iTunes (and I've also checked this on the RSS feed on this site and the forums for news), I notice there is no SEGA AGES season 2 eps 3, 4, 6 & 7. And both shows have no new eps since March. What happened? Maybe I'll find out when I get to those episodes (I'm currently in the December eps  ), but I was just a little worried that I might miss some eps of my favourite podcasts!

Also, I noticed SEGA AGES has changed hands to ForeverSonic! What happened to ResidentSD? Nooooooo! *Darth Vader-esque fist shake as the Emperor looks on* :wet: XD

PS. I'm not dissing ForeverSonic as I haven't even heard him do his thing yet, just I think ResidentSD was pretty cool at doing SEGA AGES :)

Glad you've been enjoying the archived shows!

The SEGA AGES Battle Royale episodes were expedited so that podcast listeners could vote in time - KC & I (the Podcast team) don't have the other SEGA AGES Series 2 episodes yet, but they should become available at some point.

Saturday Night SEGA will be getting a major update soon; expect to see a few more episodes shortly.

There's also Sword of SEGA, whose feed is up to date, save for last night's adventure which should appear shortly. :)

I see. How come they take so long to get put up? I always assumed the podcasts went up within a few days of the live broadcast. Am I wrong?
Presumably the shows are recorded and ready to listen to as soon as the show is finished... I guess the chaptering would take some time (especially SEGA AGES' meticulous chaptering with album art for each chapter, which is so awesome, btw!), though.
If I can help with chapter name entry or something, I'd love to help to get those podcasts out ASAP :D I don't know exactly what's involved in the podcast making process, but I have a ton of music in iTunes that I'm pretty anal about when it comes to making sure all the data entries are just so :D I even look up all the Japanese composer & track names and retype them in Japanese if I find them initially in English :D
Well, looking forward to seeing the update and the missing episodes! Thanks to everyone at Radio SEGA for all their hard work :rockin:

I'm still here! However, I handed over the reigns of SEGA AGES to foreversonic as of the start of the year so he could bring something new to the show and take it forward in a way I couldn't.

Still, I'm glad you enjoyed my shows and I hope you keep listening to foreversonic's SEGA AGES going forward.

ResidentSD used to do most of the podcasting and the shows were usually up within 24 hours, but it was a few months after that the podcast team was set up so we've had a backlog, plus we've both been unable to work on it for some of the time.
Saturday Night SEGA at least should be fully up to date within a week.
Once podcasts are up to date they will be back to the stage where each episode is released shortly after broadcast.

Thanks for the gesture. Identifying track names isn't a problem as the broadcasting software can archive these, but it takes a bit of time selecting the track changes, converting audio, and sorting out the artwork if appropriate. Creating chaptered podcasts requires a Mac with GarageBand, but if you (or anyone else reading this) are willing and able to help, please speak to Gavvie.

Well, almost everything has already been said by Retrix. We are both working hard on making the previous shows available for your listening pleasure.
Good news is ALL of Saturday Night SEGA shows will be available for download within a few days.
Sword of SEGA, as mentioned by Retrix, is up-to-date, and we're trying to get the files of all previous SEGA AGES, starting with the very special end of 1st season show.

We'll keep you posted over the next few days.

As aforementioned, if any of you guys can help out, please be sure to speak to Gavvie, cause we're going to need your help...soon. :)

Just to be clear - you don't need a Mac. You just need to be running Mac OS X. I don't have a Mac, just OSX installed on a partition on my PC.

Granted, installing OSX on a PC isn't always the easiest of tasks, but it can be done.
