Since the beginning of RadioSEGA Live!, we've brought our podcasts to you in our RadioSEGA enhanced AAC format, which include artwork and chapter markers built right into the file. Problem is that in the past, this has only been supported on Apple software and devices (i.e. iTunes, iPod, iPhone etc). But not any more!
If you've got an Android phone or tablet, be jealous no more of your Apple owning friends! You can also take advantage of our chaptered podcasts by downloading the Akimbo Audiobook Player application from the Android Market. There is a free version for you to try - https://market.android.com/details?id=c ... .abp.trial, but if you like the app, support the developers and unlock the full version for US$2.49 (~£1.58) - https://market.android.com/details?id=com.akimbo.abp
Now, I'll be honest - the user interface isn't the best. But it works and is, as far as we're aware, the only way to enjoy chaptered podcasts on your Android device.
We're thrilled to be able to offer our enhanced podcast experience to even more device owners and we hope you Android owners enjoy our chaptered podcasts!
Thanks to foreversonic for bringing this application to my attention!
Note - we are aware that iPad owners running iOS5 can no longer take advantage of chapter markings in our files. It seems that Apple removed this functionality from iOS5, meaning this change is unfortunately outside of our control. iPhone and iPod touch owners running iOS5 are unaffected, as are iPad owners running a firmware previous to iOS5.
RadioSEGA Chaptered Podcasts now available on Android!

It's probably also worth noting, for those who won't have clicked the link, that the trial version does halt the audio every 15 minutes, and there's a 30 second delay before it restarts.
That said, for what must be nearing 200-odd awesome RadioSEGA LiVE! shows that we have, £1.58 sounds like a good enough price, so you'd be better off just stumping up the cash for the full version.

Agreed, but at least people can grab the app and give it a go for free before committing.Gavvie wrote:That said, for what must be nearing 200-odd awesome RadioSEGA LiVE! shows that we have, £1.58 sounds like a good enough price, so you'd be better off just stumping up the cash for the full version.
Like I said in the opening post, the user interface isn't that great. Let's be honest here - it's pretty awful and for some people that might be a deal breaker. Personally, I think our content is good enough and the enhanced experience is so much better that it's worth battling through it, but at least people can try it out before stumping up the, frankly very little, US$2.49 (~£1.58).
Can please check the link or update it because it doesn't work for me.ResidentSD wrote:

You best option these days on Android is actually Podcast Addict. It supports our chaptered podcasts, it works really well and it's FREE!Shown1 wrote:Can please check the link or update it because it doesn't work for me.
You can download it here - https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... n_GB&gl=US
I'll look at changing the article to show more "modern" options. Thanks for the heads up and enjoy the podcasts!
